Hey everyone. This story was written for Marauder Map Madness on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The prompts I chose to write for were 135. Tomes and Scrolls: (Character) Astoria Greengrass, and 140. Scribbulus Writing Implements: (character) Draco Malfoy. I hope you all enjoy Something Good.

They knew it would be dangerous for her to do this Draco kept reminding himself as he stood over Astoria's bed. He felt horrible for the fact that she felt that he needed to continue his family's name. He had told her specifically he didn't want to carry on the Malfoy name.

"You haven't held the baby yet," Astoria whispered as she watched their son sleep in her arms.

"I think he should get as much time with you as he can," Draco told him trying to keep the bitterness out of his voice. Why couldn't she have accepted his answer towards having children. "I'll hold him later." He hoped that she couldn't hear the bitterness towards his own child in his voice but he couldn't help it. This child was taking away the best thing to ever happen to him.

"I'll hold you to that, my dragon," she whisper with a small smile she only used for him. "Scorpius is really looking forward to spending some time with his daddy. Aren't you baby?" She was looking at the baby this time with his smile still on her face.

"Astoria," he went to stop her as she moved to get out of bed but was too late, "you should stay in bed." He saw her arms begin to tremble knowing she was truly weakened from the delivery of their child. He took the child in his arm and knew she'd done this on purpose when he saw the smile slide back on her face. "You did that on purpose," he accusingly pointed at Astoria as she sat back down in bed.

She nodded sadly. "It was the only way that I could think of to get you to hold your son," she told him. Astoria never really minced her words especially with Draco. If she saw something that was wrong she'd point it out whether he wanted to hear or not.

"This child is taking away the only good thing in my life, Astoria," Draco hissed at her not looking down at his son because he didn't want to be reminded that he was the reason Astoria was dying.

"No, Draco," Astoria told him sadly. "You aren't losing the only good thing in your life. You have Scorpius. He'll remind you of me when I'm no longer there for you." She looked at him tears in her eye. "He will be a reminder of the love we shared for each other. He will be your something good."

Draco looked down at his son to see the boy was a miniature him but that he had his mother Astoria's eyes. Tears fell down his face and he made a silent promise to his son right there and then that he'd spend as much time with both Astoria and his son. He'd make the time Astoria had left with her family as happy as he could and he would tell his son all about her when he was older. Walking over he sat next Astoria on the bed feeling her arms go around him as he sat there crying. Maybe things would get better they couldn't worse. Could they?

I hope you all enjoyed Something Good.
