"Jadey…I'm scared."

"Don't be scared, Cat. It's just rain."

There was a loud crash of lightning as the redhead cringed.

"Just don't think about it," Jade said with sleepiness present in her voice.

It was three a.m. on a Saturday.

Cat didn't know when it had started, but she was crying.

As Cat tried to hide her tears from the stronger girl, Jade sighed.

"Kitty," Jade lifted the petite girl's face up so that they were looking into each other's eyes, "It's all going to be over soon. Please just go back to bed."

Cat nodded as she snuggled back into the black haired girl's ribs.

Jade turned off the lamp and pulled Cat closer to her.

Jade kissed the top of Cat's head.

"It will all be over soon."

About fifteen minutes later, the goth girl found herself awake with Cat pulled onto her lap, the lamp once again on.

Jade was rocking a little, brushing her fingers over the redhead's cheek.

"Jade," Cat said quietly, "Why do you still let me sleepover if you know this is going to happen?"

"Because I like cuddling with you."

This was the first time anyone had seen Jade so sweet, with her walls down.

Cat smiled up at Jade and pulled them closer together.

After a moment of silence, Jade continued.

"Because I love you, Cat."

This came out as almost a whisper.

"You love me?"

Cat barely managed to choke out this question.

Jade nodded and kissed the younger girl's cheek slowly.

Cat looked up at Jade and wiped away a few more tears.

Jade gently placed her hand under Cat's chin, lifting the smaller girl's head to face her.

Both of the girls' hearts began racing as they leaned in.

Their lips met. It was a very passionate, loving kiss.

As they parted Cat smiled, her eyes less red than before.

Jade turned off the lamp and laid back down in her bed.

"Goodnight, Cat," Jade said as the redhead snuggled back into her side.

"But it's still raining," Cat mumbled.

"Just don't think about it," Jade said as she rolled over, pulled Cat into her chest, and kissed her once more.
