Disclaimer: Not mine never was don't know about the future though. Hmmm. Oh
well the fact that Inuyasha is in my room hogtied has nothing to do with
it. Just don't sue me. n.n I don't have any money.¬_¬; haven't got my
allowance for 2 months. Oh well read the Fanfic already!
A/N: It's a bit waffy, but I'm still not sure which dream is whose dream is whose or which one's a dream and which one's a reality. In saying that I just got as lost as Ryoga... *twitches* Never good.
Only a Dream Away
Quiet, almost too quiet. It weighs heavily upon his ears, they twitch. "Kagome," he growls rolling over and breaking the silence. It returned in the dark a deep sense of nothingness. A figure calls out in her sleep, "Inuyasha," it was over and the silence once again pinned the two figures down. A tear runs down a cheek, a growl rises from a throat. They hold each other closer, just a little more, a little closer.
As the sun starts to rise the silence is replaced with a thick golden fog, it wraps two figures in its grasp. One wakes slightly, she's in his arms. He tightens them around her, if it was a dream he didn't want it to end. He held her close as she muttered in her sleep, 'Inuyasha. Don't leave me," her brow knit and she nuzzles his chest. He tightens his grip, "I won't leave you," he whispers. She relaxes into him. He falls back asleep his nose nestled into her dark hair.
Her mind awakes but her eyes remain closed. It is warm. She is safe. His smell engulfs her. It is a dream she never wants to wake from. She nestled in closer, pulling his haori around them both. A core of warmth. She loves him she thought looking into his face, filled with love and protectiveness. " I love you," she says caressing his cheek with her fingertips. He tightens his grip on her once more and she smiles falling back into the half real haze of slumber.
Kagome wakes in a dead sweat. She is in her room alone, but it had seemed so real. His grasp, his face, his clothing all real to the touch. She lies back down and tries once more to capture the dream. She clings loosely to her blanket. Her grip tightens pulling something closer. She burrows herself into it. A dark red haori.
Inuyasha wakes in his tree nearly falling out of it. The dream has returned, more real than ever before. He kneaded his forehead briefly before trying once again to capture sleep. His clawed hand holds a loose scrap of paper. On closer inspection it is a photograph. A picture of Kagome. He holds it close to his white undershirt in sleep. Against his heart.
The dreamer awakes looking down at his tiny charge. He wraps his white pelt tighter around her frail shoulders. He ponders his dreams of his half-breed brother and his human. He felt a kinship to his brother he hadn't felt before. It disgusted him, but this tiny human made him understand. He touched Rin's check before pulling her close to him. The next morning her awoke with a new understanding of his brother's love for a human and that of his father before him.
Silence drifts back in around the two figures huddled in the dark. Holding each other in as close as possible. Weather or not they were truly together. "I love you Kagome," one mutters to the other, unsure if she is years away or in his arms. "I love you Inuyasha," the other sighs. May their dream never end.
