Just a little thing from Tom Riddles view of Harry's parents death.
….
It was a mysterious dark night. Tom Riddle frowned, he had Snape to hear the prophecy and it was worse than he feared. There were only two families that it could be referring to and he had instantly chosen the half blood.
They were equals.
And he would kill the baby before it caused him any problems. Snape had, of course asked for Lily Potter not to be killed. She was a mud blood, he desired her that was all.
They lived in Godric's Hollow, one of the only wizard villages. They lived in a nice house; he could see a cat running around the garden.
Such a shame he had to murder them all.
They were a powerful family, after all. But they would have no chance against him now. They had escaped him many times but that would end tonight.
The door crashed open and he was met with a good looking man, beckoning his red haired with upstairs. He was shouting he'd hold him off. Riddle laughed, how typical of him. Brave, yet stupid of him. James Potter was as insignificant as a fly compared to Tom Riddle. He was talented, true, but he would never go to the lengths that Tom Riddle had. Never.
James was soon dead; he had fought bravely and quite well under the circumstances. He would have made a good death eater, shame he would have never joined us.
The woman had tears in her eyes, "Please, not Harry, anything but Harry. Please…"
Snape had asked, he reminded himself, "Move out of the way, girl."
"Please, please, not Harry."
The room filled with green light and she flopped onto the floor.
Riddle moved towards the cot and the baby saw he was not his father and cried.
He almost smiled, yes, he was not a friend. The baby had good instincts and it was only 1 year old.
The green light filled the house for the third time that night but this time, it failed and Riddle was blasted into oblivion. He saw the house fade and even England. A dark forest awaited him and there he would stay.
Riddle screamed in anguish, a baby? How could a mere baby do this to him? Was Dumbledore that old fool right, could love be this powerful?
He shook his head; he couldn't afford to doubt his beliefs now.
Riddle closed his eyes; he would wait for his followers to come.
He was in for a long wait.
