His Daughter
By Angel Kamiya

Mara woke up and realized how hungry she was. As the ten year old girl with short red hair sat there in the alley alone, she sighed. She had ran away from her instructor that day because they had gotten into a big argument. She had done horrible on a exam, even after studying an entire month for it. Mara hated all the things she was being taught. It was like she was being trained to become something she didn't want to be.

As she sat there, she felt a drop of water hit her face. It was going to rain.

Mara quickly got up and looked around, thinking about where she was. She was on the lower levels of Coruscant, not exactly the safest place in the galaxy, and would have to find some real shelter when the weather got bad.

There was nothing she could do if she stayed on her own, so she needed to see if she could find someone to help her. Mara looked around, seeing that no one looked practically safe to talk to. As she turned the corner she ran straight into somebody.

Mara let out a scream and was knocked back to the ground. Looking up she tried not to be intimidated by the man with the black helmet and armor. It wasn't easy.

"Where have you been?" Darth Vader demanded.

The girl was still rubbing her back when she glared up at him.

"Nowhere. I was just looking through the city..."

Vader moved forward and grabbed her before she could run off. As he carried the girl under his right arm, he started heading back to the shuttle that was nearby.

"Hey! You don't have to do this. I know how to walk," Mara said, making a face.

"This is the tenth time you've ran away," the Sith Lord uttered, annoyed. "I'm not taking anymore chances."

"You could let me go."

"I'm happy that you're not my daughter," Vader stated.

"Well, I'm glad you're not my father!" Mara retorted.

As he walked back to the shuttle, they continued to loudly insult each other. Vader threw the annoying little girl into the backseat and got the shuttle started. It was going to be a long trip back.
