Life's a Banjo

Disclaimer: Incredibles is not mine. D'OH.

Rick came home with a sigh.

NSA is back.

The supers are back.

Yet...there's something amiss.

He looked at the tight black suit with an eagle logo in the middle. He had been The Eagle way before the Golden Age. He was also the first super without any superpowers.

He sighed again.

If Buddy Pine had been guided correctly maybe he would have succeeded as the other super without no superpowers.

He remembered every bit of it. His Achilles Tendon was severed by one of the super-villains. He forced himself, but one incident almost cost his life dearly. He fractured his backbone. By miracle he survived and he came back to life. And therefore he can not do it anymore. Swinging through rooftops with his grappling hook, punching villains, paralyzing them with gadgets he'd concoct together with Edna Mode.

But he didn't regret anything of his life at all.

If it hadn't been those accidents, he wouldn't have met Lucia Luckey, Bob's mother.

She gave him a gift he can not forget.

She was a young deputy police in the crime department. She was the only one visiting him in the hospital.

"When life puts you down, play the banjo! Nothing ever sounds depressing from a banjo!"

He picked up the banjo and started singing, "Oh there was once a sheep..."

The End

Inspired by Boundin'. The guy who made Boundin' is the voice actor for Rick Dicker. Also from a recording of Steve Martin or Martin Short, either one of them :P
