The four seniors in high school walked down the hall way. Angelina, Velvet, Madison, and Lacey have all been friends since the first day of sixth grade, and now they were in their last year of high school. Although they weren't the popular people, the four friends always kept confident and ignored the crap that people would say. It didn't matter to them because they had each other.
"You look pretty today Velvet." Angelina said as her arm was linked with Velvet's. Lacey's arm was linked with Velvet's other arm, and Madison's arm was linked to Angelina's other one. This was a daily routine that they had been doing for years. If the hallway was too crowded then Lacey and Madison would link arms and they would be behind Angelina and Velvet.
Velvet looked at Angelina and smiled. "You look beautiful, as always." Angelina smiled and continued walking as everyone else did. They all told each other that they looked beautiful. They were each others back bones.
Lacey and Madison walked off and Angelina and Velvet stood against their lockers that were right next to each other. "It's so obvious that you like him." Velvet said when she noticed Angelina staring at Alex who's locker was just seven lockers down.
"How can you not like him?" Angelina asked as she took her glance off of the man down the hall from her and looked at her best friend.
"Well I don't like him like that. I like his best friend Chris. He's attractive." Velvet said as Angelina smiled. Angelina knew that Velvet liked Chris and she was hopeful to one day become couples so they can go on double dates together.
"Well you know that Lacey and Madison both have boyfriends. They go on double dates all of the time." Angelina said while shutting her locker. "I just think it'd be cool for best friends to be dating best friends. I mean after all we're hot, they're hot. We're the perfect girls for them."
Velvet couldn't help but start laughing, and Angelina meant to make her laugh. Alex walked up to the friends and Angelina tried not to start laughing.
"What's so funny girls?" Alex asked with a smile. Alex and Chris were best friends with Angelina and Velvet, and that's why Angelina was so scared to become anything with Alex. Even though she wanted to, she couldn't risk ruining her friendship with him. That would nearly kill her.
"Nothing." Velvet said as she stopped looking at Angelina and looked at Alex. "Nothing at all."
"Now come on Velvet. Somethings funny." Chris said as he walked up to her and looked at her. "Maybe your just shy."
Velvet looked at Chris and gently pushed him. "Shut up!" She said smiling.
"Hey Vel Vel, I need to get to class. You coming?" Angelina asked as she smiled at her. She then looked over at Alex.
"Leaving so soon?" Alex asked with a smile as he rested his hand against the locker right about Angelina's left shoulder.
Angelina could feel her heart start beating fast.
"Did you forget that we have the same first period?" Alex asked with a smile.
Angelina hadn't forgot that but she wanted to talk to Velvet alone. She wanted to be able to feel like she wasn't going to have a heart attack. She giggled and then looked at Alex.
"I'll see you in first period, okay?" Angelina said as she then walked off with Velvet.
"It is so obvious that you like him." Velvet said as they walked away.
Angelina could do nothing but smile. She did like Alex, and she had for many years. She may have even been in love with him.
