1. Bill Weasley

He was handsome and charming and he really liked her. He was older and more experienced but he possessed none of the arrogance typical of many of the older boys at Hogwarts, and it intrigued her.

There was no good reason why she didn't fall for him. Her friends urged her to make a move, return his affections, but something stopped her, and it took the longest time for her to finally realize what.

He was too perfect, too good. She wasn't saying that he was a bad person, or a bad friend, and in fact they became quite close later on. The problem was that, at that point in her life, she wanted someone with more of an edge, a darker side.

2. Sirius Black

At Grimmauld Place, she always felt such pity for him. She found the house to be despicable and old and cobwebbed and filled to the brim with memories better left untouched, and she couldn't believe that he had to ilive/i here, especially considering that this was the home he fought so hard to escape.

One time, she expressed her sympathy to him an a low voice, not wanting anyone to overhear in case he didn't want to be seen agreeing with her if his pride couldn't take that. Their heads were so close together, when he leaned over and brushed his lips lightly against hers.

If it had been anywhere else, she might have returned it, but because it was here, in a home where incest ran rampant among its previous inhabitants, she pushed him away gently.

3. Charlie Weasley

He was her best male friend at Hogwarts despite the House difference, her partner in crime as they made their way through classes together and passed by some stroke of luck. They would laugh and play Gobstones and chess (both of them were terrible at it) and experience all the ups and downs of being a teenager.

There was one time, when she first found that he had a girlfriend, that she felt intensely jealous. She gave him a strange look, and didn't talk to him for the rest of the night.

The next day, she swallowed the lump in her throat and promised herself that she would work through this, that this wouldn't drive a wedge in their relationship. And they continued to be friends, up until graduation and beyond.

4. Kirley Duke

He was the lead guitar player of the Weird Sisters, and although she hadn't spoken much to him when he attended Hogwarts (he was a Ravenclaw and she already had a friend outside of her House, and it was difficult enough to find enough time to be close to him), she went to a concert once, just because he had invited all of his old classmates.

As she watched him play, she thought inwardly that her parents would ihate/i him, and that made her even more gleefully determined to talk to him.

She walked up to him as he was putting away his guitar, and he raised his eyebrow. She had thought they were somewhat friends, and beamed at him. He thought, for too long, before he recognized her. "Nymphadora," he said, pointing a finger at her.

The smile froze on her face.

5. Oliver Wood

He had come to join the Order the year before Voldemort was finally defeated once and for all, and she thought he was handsome but most of all honest, a trait which she had never really thought too much about until now.

Because she saw Remus's unhappiness that he would never admit to, and she wanted to shake him for it, to tell him that if he would only talk about it things would be better. But she didn't, and when honest Oliver Wood came up to her, not knowing she was married, she was tempted. She was human.

But then she glanced at Remus, who was looking at her, and even though he had no right to feel possessive or jealous, she saw the misery in his eyes and instead of flirtatiously kissing Oliver's cheek, she instead opted to shake his hand.
