AN: In addition to Harry Potter, I'm completely obsessed with Brokeback Mountain. It's a beautiful, heartbreakingly romantic story. I love it SO FREAKING MUCH OH MY GOD. Ok sorry. I'm good. Hehe. So I've started a few fics for BBM, but I decided to just put up this little poem for now because I haven't finished any of the fics, hehe. I'm so lazy. This poem is from Ennis' POV at the end of the story. Sorry if the format bothers you; I was having fun with word placement so I used no capitalization and little punctuation. Creative license, right? And yes, I've become freakishly obsessed with second-person lately; for some reason it makes things seem more dramatic to me. I don't know. Anyway, here it is.
Summary: An angsty poem about Ennis' relationship with Jack after the fact, from Ennis' POV.
Rating: T for some cursing. (Too mild?)
Ship: Ennis Del Mar/Jack Twist
Spoilers: Implied
Feedback: Is amazing
the taste of old
memories rotten on the
back of your tongue like
vomit as you come to
terms with scar tissue,
it is your
love now, it is your
heart.
he was so much more than you
ever admitted, you broke
him early on but it made him
love you more, go
figure.
he called you bastard fucking
bastard and you hit him, you
kissed him, you broke him, he
was your only reason and your
only real mistake.
you let him down every time and
he hated you, he molded to you, you
fucked him and he was all that mattered.
you were so afraid to let him in never
opening to anyone afraid he would break
what you showed him, destroy you in your
vulnerability. he was gentle, he was
so tender and careful and he destroyed
it, destroyed you perfectly in your
entirety, and you knew he would, you
knew he would. he tastes of
something perfect and doomed, the
only thing to live for and the
thing that took your life.
he tastes of dark cold nights and
angry words and loss,
he broke you,
he made you scar
tissue.
