He counted the memories he'd had

He counted the friends he'd met

He counted the enemies he'd faced

He counted the days he had left

He stood at the door, unsure

Whether or not to go through with it

To tell or to lie or to simply hide

He wanted to run.

Eventually he knocked and opened the door

Unsure who the place would behold

Behind the door was his family and friends

He felt weary and torn and cold

The first one to notice was Romano

He looked at him with a knowing glance

The second was his best friends, Spain and France

They looked at him with glee and joy

The third would be his brother, Germany

He looked at him with a hidden fondness

The rest would look at him with mixed feelings

But he was okay with that

He felt a pang of guilt in pain

He clutched his chest, as if to hold his heart

He then understood

He had to go

He stood at the center of the room

He stood with pride and sadness

He took everyone's attention

He smiled at their confusion

The only one to know what he was going to do

Was Romano, he knew

He knew what he was going through

And so Romano kept silent

He stood at the middle, still glancing around

Then breathed in deeply and began to talk

He says he's fading, he says he's sorry

He says he's proud and not to worry

He says his thanks and goodbyes

They denied his claims and some started to cry

He started to grow paler and paler

He started to fade

He faded and faded until he eventually gone away

He told everyone to live on and smile

And so the others did but Romano knew otherwise

It wasn't his destiny and so he too will die.

A/N: I will be uploading the next chapter of What To Know About Lovino Romano Vargas (which I will call LRV because it certainly is a mouthful) in another week's time. If I don't upload til then, I will upload another oneshot. Thank you for reading this, comments, suggestions, recommendations, criticisms are welcome. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
