A/N: Makorra Week Day 2~~
"Ok so all you have to do is this." Mako held up the gun pointing it at the target. Concentrating on hitting it, and pulled the trigger creating a loud boom.
"I know what to do." Korra laughed. "Holding up her gun with both hands she shoot four times, hitting four targets dead on. "Why do you think I'm number one in our class?"
"Yeah, no need to brag." Mako joked and leaned against the pillar. They were in the basement of the police trackforce. The basement was equipped with the weapons needed to practice, and targets for shotting ranges. In the corner was a sparring mat, not all fights were going to be shooting. That was what they learned on the first day. Both were the top in the force, in their age group that is. The more older, Lei Bin Fong was the best, but under her was them. Mako and Korra being paired together, at first didn't work so good.
"Helloo. Mako!" Korra yelled while snapping her fingers infront of the males face.
"What?" Mako shaked his head of the fog.
"We just got called out on an assignment. Our first one." Korra smiled.
That was the last time he saw her smile, the bright smile of true happiness. She was so happy about receiving her first assignment, it meant they trusted the pair. It meant they willbe going on more dangerous missions. If that was possible.
They lived in a world where it was dark, dangerous. Where it wasn't safe. They both knew that going into the program. Yet it affected them both. Korra knew that, but didn't care. Over the next few weeks Mako noticed more and more about Korra. Her smiles were false, fake. They didn't reach her eyes, which were once bright. Now they were dull, dead.
"Korra?" Mako hesitatingly put a hand on Korra's shoulder. She jumped so high and turned around fast her hands up. Her eyes, scared. When she noticed it was him she lowered her hands, calming her expression.
"Oh it's you, Mako." Korra took a deep breath. "What do you want?"
"I want to know what's wrong."
"Nothing is wrong." Korra denied and looked away from him.
"You're forgetting I'm trained to tell when people lie." Mako said, worried for the girl he had become to care more and more about in the past weeks and even before that.
"Just..." Korra sighed taking in a big breath. "I thought I could do this. I thought I could protect people. More and more people are dieing!"
"That's not your fault Korra. It's nobodies fault. All we can do is try and find Amon. To stop him and this maddness." Mako assured her.
"How are you so sure?" Korra asked.
"I'm not. But once in awhile you have to think positivly or ese everything is going to end up badly."
Korra nodded and smiled. "You know what?"
"What?" Mako asked, happy to see her smile.
"Even though we live in this world of darkness I'm happy about two things." Korra smiled and went forward.
"Which are?" Mako pressed.
"Having you, and being positive." Korra smiled and kissed him softly, surprising him.
Mako was glad he had something to clear the darkness, even for the moment.
