Chapter 1
Yuuki's last thought before spiraling into Rido's locked arms was "Zero save me". She had really done it this time… Always the damsel in distress… Zero was going to give her an earful when she got out of this, if she got out of the demon-blooded vampire's eternal stare. In a blast of crimson light Rido and Yuuki vanished in the dark.
"YUUKI!" Zero screamed at the empty air where his best friend and true love stood only a moment ago. He had watched her chestnut eyes beg for help as the demon encircled her, but every step he had taken was a leaden weight separating their love. There was only one thing to do, go to the man who cared for Yuuki almost as much as Zero craved the elixir that flowed in her veins, Kaname.
Zero ran as if the demons of hell bit at his ankles the entire way to the Night dormitory where one of the few pureblooded (and condescending) vampires resided. He smashed at the gates fruitlessly and leapt over it with superhuman strength and agility. Almost immediately he was surrounded by the 4 most beautiful people he had ever seen. A blond boy with frosty blue eyes and skin as pale as snow, a strawberry blond man with fires blazing in his eyes, a neat trimmed true blond boy with starling emerald eyes, and the most gorgeous girl he had ever seen. She had long flowing hair the color of golden lilies and her pale skin contrasted brightly with the stark whiteness of the Night uniform she wore, in a heartbeat, Zero forgot Yuuki in the girl's mysterious eyes.
"My name is Hana," Said the girl. "This is Aidou, my brother." She indicated to the frosty boy.
"I'm Zero! And I uhhh…" He stammered, unable to remember his purpose.
"Why are you here, do you know it's dangerous?" Her voice was as silken as the black widow's threads.
She moved towards Zero, sidling up to him. She turned her silver eyes to his violet ones and whispered, "Do you want to come with me, my pet?" Zero's mind whirled he couldn't think and couldn't stand! He fell to the floor in a crumpled heap the sweet smell of her breath on his tongue. As he drifted into unconsciousness he felt a man heave him over his shoulder and carry him towards the building. His words that he managed to utter rang in the empty corridor. "Ka-na-me…."
