I've decided to take the 5 senses challenge, predictably, I'm doing it for Fire Emblem. This first one is Sight, with Haar x Jill. Wyverns!
Jill wheeled out over the barren, snow-covered landscape that was Daein in the winter and noted with satisfaction that the river was still as sparkling as ever. Winter may try to set her teeth into Talrega, but the farmers didn't mind. It was their land, and the land didn't mind the cold, so neither did they. And if her people were happy, so was Jill. Talrega was her land too, after all.
Her frozen breathe whipped into her eyes and they misted up with tears at the stinging cold, but she didn't care. From her vantage atop her wyvern, she could see for miles across the landscape, and was basking in the light of the sun reflecting off of the snow. All she needed was the beat of the wings beneath her her lance, her saddle, and she was good. Actually, she could do without the lance, if it came down to it. The saddle too. Heck, all she needed was the wyvern.
Another wyvern's bugle sounded behind her, a deep throaty sound, one that she had grown up around. The same way a child who grew up with a dog would know its calls, Jill knew wyverns. And she knew many things about the call she had just heard. One, that the call roughly equated to 'happy,' and 'greetings.' Two, that the wyvern that made that sound was older than her own, of a deeper blue color as opposed to Jill's green, much larger, and carrying her commander. Three, that as her own little green wyvern called out a 'welcome!' and 'Joy!' that she very much agreed. She revised her opinions, it seems she did need more than her wyvern and the land below her; she also needed to be able to see Haar every day.
