Title: Hidden Home
(A/N: So to clear somethings up, what i mean by other tribute for the pairing, i meant other character entirely but i couldn't find that option. Also i know its really short but the other chapter will be longer but ive had some pressure to post this. So enjoy Hopefully and review maybe?)
Chapter 1:
Home. Where was that now? Is it where your family and friends are or where you want to go? I didn't know the answer to this question, and I figured that I never would. For the last three years home wasn't a thought on my mind. Only a vacant idea in the back of my head. Now that I think about it, I wasn't at home I was simply there. Existing but not really happy, maybe home was important, maybe I didn't see it.
Now I'm going back, back to the place where memories happened, where home might be. I guess I will have to wait and find out. Living in District 2 was great. For a while at least, helping Beetee develop weapons was amazing until I realized that I had no one to share my success with. Sure there were a few girls, mainly me trying to get over Katniss. I think it worked, now whenever I think of her I don't feel the emotions that I used to. I guess the real test will be when I see her again. I'm going home, back to district 12. I get to see my family again…..I feel happier.
The hovercraft was dull and grey like usual, but the bland colors couldn't tone down my energy. I was pacing back and forth and I couldn't figure out whether I was nervous or just jumpy. I wanted to see what District 12 would be like. Does it look different? Is the meadow still there? However I was most curious about the people. Like my brothers and sister! I haven't seen them since I moved to 2. They have obviously grown up since then. Of course I cant forget Katniss…..the most troubling one. Will she still be my friend or will is be awkward. And of course Peeta, well there is one troubling situation. Will I ever be able to be around him, knowing that he took Katniss away from me? I needed to stop thinking about that now. I am over her and she is happy with him.
We were getting close to district 12 now, or so the pilot told me. I couldn't help but laugh. At how finally, after 3 years away, I was finally going back and I was nervous! Ha! Nervous to go back to the place where I grew up, back where I fell in love and back to where I lost hope.
I was jolted out of my thoughts when the captain informed me that we were going to be landing and I needed to sit down. As the hover craft descended, I peeked out the windows and I could see my whole family waiting for me; my Mom, Rory, Vick, Posy and surprise, surprise Katniss and Peeta and heck even Haymitch was there. They had rolled out the welcoming party for me hadn't they. I stepped out of the hovercraft and was immediately tackled by Rory, Vick and Posy.
"GALE! We missed you big brother!" Shouted Posy.
Rory and Vick slapped me on the back saying "Good to have you back bro"
Then I got engulfed by a hug from my mother.
"Don't stay away so long next time" She whispered in my ear.
Haymitch gave me a nod and I could tell that he was drunk even though it was only 1 in the afternoon. Now here came the big test. Breathe I told myself as I turned to face Katniss. Just Breathe.
