Summary: A one-shot on how Pearl feels when Anna leaves to say goodbye to Jeremy in episode 20. It also includes Pearl's death.
What Am I Thinking?
Pearl watched her daughter leave with a mix of emotions. She didn't want to uproot her daughter's life. Not again. But she didn't really have a choice. She knew that until John Gilbert left town, they'd never be safe. Pearl sighed and finished packing. Harper came down.
"You know you don't have to come with us if you don't want to Harper." Pearl smiled at the Negro vampire.
"This was never my home, Miss Pearl." Harper said solemnly. "I was just a soldier who was condemned to die. You saved me from that."
Pearl smiled again. "Let me help you with those." She grabbed the bags and opened the door. She felt a searing pain in her chest and very vaguely saw a stake. As she fell, she had only one thought: 'Now Anna can stay here.'
