The Princess and the Dragon

Natsu pulled himself over Lucy's window sill and jumped into her apartment. He looked around, no Lucy. She must still be at the guild. Pouting slightly he lets his gaze wander until it rested on a pile of paper on Lucy's desk.

One of Lucy's stories. Natsu walked over to the desk and peered down at the lines of neat writing. Lucy wouldn't let him read it if she was here. But she won't be back for a while and if he leaves it exactly how it was before he read it she'd never know. Curiosity got the better of him and Natsu picked up the paper and started to read.

Despite being taught by a dragon, he could read well enough to make out the basics of what the story was about. Some words like 'execrate' and 'crepuscular' he couldn't understand, he wasn't even sure if they were in English. In the story, a princess gets kidnapped by a dragon and a prince travels across the land to rescue her.

Natsu frowned, why was the dragon always the bad guy in stories? Some dragons are bad, like Acnologia. But Igneel was a good dragon. Natsu snatched up a pencil and started scribbled over some of the words. He needed to make some changes to Lucy's story.

Natsu scanned over the small novel again and smiled in approval. Now the story was about a princess called Lucy who was kidnapped by a prince called Dumbo and was saved by a mighty dragon called Natsu. He grinned his signature grin. Perfect.

The door knob began to turn and Natsu hastily put the paper back into a pile and ran towards the window. He jumped out just as Lucy stepped into her apartment.

Lucy closed the door and looked around her small home. She frowns at her desk, the story that she'd written last night wasn't in the neat pile that she'd left it in.

She picked up the paper and noticed that some of the words were crossed out and messy replacements were scrawled across the page. Lucy recognized the writing immediately. Natsu.

He'd been messing with her stories again! Lucy scowled and read over the small book. She began to blush, Natsu had switched the dragon with the prince and the princess was called Lucy and the dragon was called Natsu.

What he didn't know was that at the end of the story, the prince and the princess kiss. Due to his changes, Natsu and Lucy kiss. Lucy flicked to the last page, but it wasn't there.

Natsu continued to run away from Lucy's apartment, gripping a piece of paper in his hand. He had a slight blush on his cheeks.

'I love you Luce.' the dragon said.

For Claire, Happy Birthday! Thanks for showing me Fairy Tail! :D
