"Percy! Percy, breakfast is ready!" I awoke and smiled to my name being called by my loving mom. Today was Mother's Day, and I had the perfect gift for my mother, Sally Jackson. Where is Gabe you ask? Gabe was with one of his friends, Eddie, for the weekend drinking beer, eating stail chips, watching the game, and playing poker.
I know why would the pig want to be playing poker, than making my mom have the best day ever? Well, honestly I'm glad he isn't here. He doesn't deserve someone sweet, caring, gentle, and patient like my mom.
I sped out of my room and to the kitchen. My mom was in her favorite yellow apron that she got from Walmart when I was younger. I remember that day distinctly because that was the day I punched some little boy in the candy section because he took the last Sour Patch Kids box. He got a bloody nose, and he cried like a baby. While I came home with my favorite candy, and one of his teeth in my hair.
Good times.
I sat down and smiled like a fool at my mom who smiled back and chimed, "Good morning, Percy," she got out a glass and put Tropicana orange juice in it. She handed it to me and I said, "Good morning, ma. It's your special day today!"
She took a sip from her morning coffee, "Hm, yes it is. I don't expect much, Percy. Having you as my son is the best gift a mother can have." I felt myself almost blushing. Mom always knew how to make me feel better about myself.
I looked up at her, "Thanks. You're the best mother ever." We both smiled for a few minutes until we heard a bird hit the window. It was Harry a, mockingbird, who always hit the window on the weekends. I named him when I was younger.
"So, I made pancakes for breakfast. After you're done we can do whatever for the day. I'll be in my room if you need anything." Mom advised as she walked to her room. I got right to business by getting bacon, and bombarding syrup on my pancakes. Mhmm, mom made the best pancakes.
After I was done, I put my plate in the dishwasher and took a coke from the fridge. I went to the TV to see if anything good was on. iCarly? Nope, that show makes me gag. Generator Rex? Naw, that show doesn't know real killing monsters and being in jeopardy.
Nothing, good was on so I went to my mother's room and knocked on the door, "Come in," she called. She was reading one of her books and had her reading glasses on, "Percy how was breakfast?" she patted the spot next to her on the bed.
I sat down, "Grand, you make the greatest pancakes," she laughed at me saying 'grand' and closed her book. "Anything good on TV?" she asked curiously. Shaking my head I answer, "Naw, just some junk they call comedy."
She nodded, "Heh, they can't be real comedians like you Percy." We both laughed at that and I thought it was the best time to give her my gift, "Mom, I'm gonna get something…m'kay?" she nodded. At that moment I stood up and sprinted into my room.
There it was; my gift to her was a poster board with pictures of my mom and I. From the day I was born till now, I also had a card that had a nice poem in it. This was the gift I put the most effort in. I smiled happily and took the gift in my hands.
I knocked again, "Mom, I wanna give you something," I walked in and put the board right in front of face. I heard her make an 'oh!' noise and she stood up from the bed, "It's like a photo album of you and I." I said pointing at the pictures.
She looked so contented, "Percy, this is a remarkable gift. Thank you so much, thank you." She pulled me into her warm embrace, and said, "I love you."
I smiled and said, "I love you too mom." And with that we hugged. Best. Mother's Day. Ever.
What did you guy's think? XD
