A young girl dressed in a pair of black shorts coupled with a light grey shirt with her clans crest printed on the front and a black high collared coat came running down the path that cut through one of the forests of Konoha with a box in her hand. Her long raven hair was pulled up into a pony tail but it still hit her lower back as she ran. It was obvious from the energetic and gentle stepping that she was part of the Ohitsujiza clan and held their abilities of speed and agility even at such a young age.

"Shino-kun! Shino-kun!" A young Alex shouted to one of her class mates who was collecting butterflies, no doubt for his own observation and research. When Alex noticed another boy sitting up in the tree she came to a halt and bounced on the ball of her feet.

"Shino! I'm sorry to interrupt you and your friend but I wondered if you wanted to join me and Shoku in watching the wildlife in my clans land" It seemed impossible for this young academy student to speak quietly or stop the constant jumping she was doing.

"He is not my friend. Why? Because he's part of my clan"

"Oh sorry! Anyway, come on it will be fun! Your always alone and I wanted to be around you! I bet one day we will be awesome shinobi together. I bet there are some bugs there too! The land isn't as big as the Nara's but it still pretty big." Alex let out a small giggle as she punched the air a few times. Her personality was the complete opposite to Shino's but that didn't stop this young girl from wanting to be around him and his bugs.

"I don't want to" Shino's voice was flat as he scooped another butterfly into his net and the look of sadness of Alex's face was soon gone as she took a few steps towards him.

"Please, Shino! It's so hard being friends with you when all you want to do is be alone, I'll even be quite if that's what you want!" She poked his forehead with a smile.

"Were not friends, Alex" At his words the young academy student tilted her head slightly and left out a sad sigh and nodded.

" Oh..that's OK, I'll go mess with Kiba then, he said I couldn't beat him in a running ran but I'll show him!" The smile on her lips was trying it's best to look sincere but Alex was slightly hurt by his words. Before she got two feet away from him she came to a halt and looked at the setting sun.

"By the way, Shino. I really like your bugs. I know a lot of people think they are creepy but I think they are really cool and I thought you might be hungry so I'll just leave this here. " And with that she smiled back at him and setting down the small box before making her way back to the village by hopping from one foot to another lightly and humming a sweet tune.

It wasn't until Alex had disappeared from the two Aburame clan boy's sight that Torune began to talk.

"I thought you said you had no friends?" He asked as he switched the branch he was perched on.

"Alex is too loud" Was all that Shino had to say about the matter but that didn't satisfy Torune.

"Even so, it seemed she was making an effort. One day you are going to a shinobi and you'll need to have friends to rely on as part of a team. I couldn't but you can" When silence filled the air Torune spoke up again.

"What did she bring you?" With a inaudibly grumble of frustration Shino walked over to the box and picked it up. Once she had opened it up he saw a few small rice balls with little bugs made out of different vegetable and some wild grass salad. Shino's eyes softens slightly and wondered why this girl that had all of the energy in the world and came from a clan that primarily relied on agility and speed would want to be friends with an Aburame.

Shino didn't know it then but this hyperactive girl would soon become not only a comrade and a friend but also keep him from harm and become his one and only.
