Harry was still acquainting himself with the local scenery of Dibley, hoping he'd run into Geraldine again if he was being completely honest with himself. They really needed to start going on real dates, though the spontaneity of it all was pretty exciting, nothing like he'd ever done before.

After some time of walking, he went into a local shop he'd yet to visit, maybe he could find something for Rosie when she arrived later today. When he swung the door open, he heard the jingle just above his head and was met by David buying something at the counter.

"Harry!" He greeted. "Enjoying the sites are we?"

"Most definitely." Harry replied, ducking into the shop and taking a gander at the shelves of candy.

"And how have you been getting on? The cottage suiting you?" David asked casually.

Harry nodded, an easy smile at his lips. "Its excellent, thank you. I've just settled all my books out of their boxes on onto the shelves."

"Wonderful. And have you met many others here? I was wondering how your dinner with the Vicar had gone, she is the most hospitable neighbor to have, after all."

"It was great, absolutely lovely. I was glad she'd even accepted my offer to go out in the first place, she's the first person I met after moving in and I very much enjoy her company." Harry said, feeling heat rise in his cheeks just at the thought of Geraldine.

David's eyes widened slightly, though he was more intrigued than surprised.

"It gave me quite a shock to realize she was the Vicar, doesn't seem the type." Harry continued.

"Oh, I assure you, she's the finest, most dedicated Vicar, which is just the type, especially once you get to know her." The councilman gave a breath of laughter, shaking his head at his own memories. "I had my doubts as well, at first glance."

"I think I may have to stay one of these weekends for the service, then." Harry said, hands in his pockets now. "I've never been very religious myself, but I can't imagine anything she's in charge of being dull."

"You're absolutely right. I'll look forward to seeing you there."

"Excellent. But um, also," Harry said, wanting to carry on the conversation for just a bit longer, "you've known Geraldine for a long while I'm guessing?"

David nodded. "For over ten years, yes. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you developing a little crush on her."

Harry looked surprised, then let out a nervous breath he didn't know he was holding. He decided that it was good that someone else knew, though he was planning on telling Rosie later. "How could you tell?"

"I've been where you are, I asked her to marry me once." David said to gage the other man's reaction.

Harry downplayed his internal first reaction of "What?" and nodded politely. "Really? You dated?"

"No, but for a time, I was convinced that we would be good for each other. Now I realize that we are, but only as friends. The reason I did propose so suddenly was because I knew she wanted a husband more than a boyfriend."

"Right." Harry said a little uneasily. She wanted marriage? Well, he certainly wouldn't argue, but it was quite a big decision to make.

"You better know what you're doing then, Harry, Geraldine is one woman who deserves the world."

"I'm beginning to see that." Harry replied, agreeing wholeheartedly.

David smiled and slapped the taller man on the arm. "Good luck." He said before exiting the shop, leaving Harry with nothing but his thoughts.

Marriage...to a woman he was sure he was falling in love with. It sounded crazy, but at the same time, it was also the most right thing he'd ever imagined.

He and Rosie really did have a lot to catch up on
