Herm. Lesse. Warnings: abuse, possible noncon. Envy is a warning unto himself. Spoilers for episode 20-23
Oh, they were pesky things, snaking up, curling their thorny tendrils around his ankles; ensnaring him. Ed struggled, tried to find a way out of this mess, but to no avail. The only thing he could do was choke as Envy revealed to him the terrible truth.

"We've been manipulating you the whole time"

No. That simply could not be. Ed's eyes widened as he stared at the sin, not really seeing the emerald locks or the devious grin painted on immaculate features. Instead he pictured a lakeside and two brothers.

Two brothers who had nothing left in the world but each other and a promise. A promise they made to each other to get back what they'd lost. He'd lost.

And here was a man…no, not even a man, a thing. A horrible inhuman creature telling them that everything they had been striving for was not to help themselves, but a group of artificial beings. That anything they accomplished would only serve to meet their ends and not his own. Futile. Useless.

It could not be true.

"You lie!" He snarled, turning on the sin. "We came here for ourselves! Not for you or anyone else."

But he could feel the brambles that had caught him, the devious plots that had been going on behind his back for four years. They had him utterly and completely trapped. He was at their mercy, his only option to do what they wanted. Otherwise they'd kill his brother, the only thing that mattered.

It became clear, a moment later, that it was not only the philosophers stone that Envy desired. The realization started with a kick to the jaw. This was about much more than becoming human. This was about revenge. About torture.

Soon after the abuse, Edward felt himself being lifted into the air, brought face to face with a terrifying sneer that lurked beneath slitted eyes. Teeth gleamed eerily in the roseate lighting, all luminescence created by the unfinished stones.

And Ed felt the grip tighten, helpless to escape the branches that held him ensnared. Struggling only made it worse, only dug the thorns deeper into his skin. His blood flowed a little faster as the abrasions grew bigger and he cringed away from his captor.

But cringing would not stop the beast, would not defeat the brambles. Nor would begging or fighting back. So Edward could do nothing, absolutely nothing as Envy leaned in towards him. He could only watch in horror as those features closed the gap between them.

And instead of the pain he expected, his mind reeled, could only imagine what was running through the minds of those around him. Because instead of hitting him or beating him, the sin pushed his lips against Ed and forced his tongue into his mouth. Ed gagged, whimpered, gave in.

He was damned. Some snares were inescapable.
