Klaus's lips stayed unrelenting on Caroline's mouth as she frantically took the rest of the clothes off both of their bodies, and soon Klaus's hands which had stayed on her sides now went under her thighs to pull her up roughly against him. She gripped his neck and wouldn't stop kissing him as he moved so they would be more comfortable. This is seriously happening. One kiss from Klaus and she was gone, she didn't realize how much she wanted him, but she did now. Oh God how she did.
An hour later, Caroline laid in the leaves, not caring how their pointing tips and ridges were poking into her skin. Klaus leaned to cover her body with his own and stared at her, she stared back at him.
"Are you sure you want me to go?" He asked. With his skin on hers, she couldn't give him a reasonable answer right away. She took a few breaths to keep her mind from racing.
"It's best for me and my friends that you do." She murmured. Klaus looked away and Caroline's eyes followed him, seeing the hurt in his eyes. "Matt, Tyler, Elena, Bonnie, we just have too many battles to fight. And you're constantly getting in the way." She added. "It's annoying as hell." She said, and it brought a smile to Klaus's face.
"Caroline, we all have battles to fight, some more than others." He told her. "I've let battles run my life for so long because that was all I knew after I became immortal." He said.
"Battles don't run our lives." Caroline replied, meaning her own friends.
"Of course they do, love. It doesn't matter how extreme the war is that is to be fought, it matters if you can accept victory. And it doesn't seem like you or your friends do." Klaus told her. Caroline shook her head and huffed.
"It doesn't matter. Either way when we leave the woods, we're going our separate ways." She told him.
"Well then we can stay in the woods as long as we desire." Klaus replied. Caroline gave him a look.
"I can't, my friends are waiting for me." She said. Klaus sighed in sad defeat and took her hand that had been draped over her stomach, held in it one hand and kissed the back of it. He looked back up at her and neither of them knew how to say goodbye.
"Until next time, Caroline." He said with a smile. Her eyebrow rose and he kissed her forehead as a farewell. The next second he was gone, and so were his clothes. Caroline stared after him for a minute, not knowing why. He was gone.
"See you around." She said.
