Hi people! I got inspired to write this from the story I read in English, "Heroes Every Child Should Know About." It was short, and made for testing, but the first paragraph caught my attention, and I decided to write this. Hope you like it. I guess I'd recommend the song Heroes: by Tove Lo. It's really great. I own nothing! PS, check out my story Disney High, for those of you who don't know about it. Here you go!
If there were no heroes,
We would make up our own,
Because every town needs a hero.
Go anywhere, there is a hero.
We might not see them, but we know they're there.
Heroes are as important to a town as
Doctors, Firefighters, Police officers, or Teachers.
Because no place can go on without a hero.
While many consider certain people to be heroes,
They aren't real heroes.
Heroes are so rare,
That one guy who saved your cat from a tree couldn't be a hero.
Some traits among many of a hero are:
Selflessness, Bravery, Honor, Strength, Kindness, and Loyalty.
A hero is always there,
Always watching over you.
For those who don't believe in heroes,
Especially if you are starving or homeless,
Just remember superheroes watch for things to get bad.
Then they come to rescue you.
But they're always a cry for help away.
Every child's first hero is their parents,
Because technically your parents did save your life.
But that's not the point.
I'm talking about the heroes you find,
When you aren't really thinking,
And you wander into a comic-book store,
In your tween years.
I'm talking about role models.
I'm talking about those you dream to be.
I'm talking about those who save the earth,
From villains, asteroids, or any number of apocalyptic disaster.
Some examples that come to mind:
Tecton, Solar Flare, Dark Warrior, Crusher,
Captain Atomic, Mr. Quick, Absolute Zero, and many, many others.
Those who have powers, those we overlook.
We forget that above Normos, heroes are something we need to survive.
Heroes are there for us.
Those who currently save the day, and defeat villains.,
Triumphantly.
Bravely.
Proudly.
Proud to do the world good.
Those who'd rather take action than watch the scene unfold.
Those with duty and self-sacrifice.
Those who don't need praise and recognition.
Those who protect out of the kindness and responsibility,
In their hearts.
So this goes out,
To the heroes we overlook,
To say thank you,
We wouldn't be here without you.
What do you think? I liked this less than my other poems, maybe I should stick to love poems. I dunno. What I do know, is this exert inspired me to write, and I did. Just so you know, the exert is the first eight sentences. I hope you liked this!
