Gabriella loved the way the air blew on her face as she raced down the hill on her bike. She looked up at the sky, expecting to see stars, but instead she saw a cloudy mixture in the sky. Just then, she heard a roll of thunder. She stopped to feel how hard the wind was blowing. The clouds were moving quickly, so she rolled her bike over to a streetlight. She turned on her cell phone, to find she had a low battery. She quickly dialed Taylor's number.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
Just when Gabriella was bout to hang up, a very tired Taylor answered her call. "Hmm, Hello?"
"Taylor! Thank God!"
"Gaby? What's wrong?"
"Listen, I took a bike ride and-"
"Again? Gaby, I told you, it's too dangerous. It's 2:00 A.M, you shouldn't be taking these night bike rides!"
"I know, I'm not gonna do it again. But listen, I need help. I'm like four miles away from my house, and a storm is coming. I'll never make it home in time. Can you come pick me up?"
"Sure, where are you?"
Beep.
Gabriella looked at her phone, and saw it had run completely out of battery. It had started to drizzle, so she turned her bike around and started to pedal, when she decided to go through the park, to make the trip shorter. She entered the park gate, and started to petal as hard as she could. Four minutes later, she hit a fork in the road. She took the left, but found out that it wasn't an actual path. She tried to find her way back to the 'fork', but got lost along the sewer line. By now it was raining hard, thundering and lightening. She found herself at the top of a hill, so she started down, hoping to find a path. She saw a path to the left of her, so she tried to swerve onto it. The front tire of her bike hit the pointed curb of the path and swerved the bike. Gabriella panicked and stuck her left leg out. The bike leaned to the left and about a second later Gabriella found herself on the ground. Her ankle was bloody and most definitely broken. She shuddered against the cold and the pain.
She found herself alone, lost, cold, sick, and scared.
