My first thought when Hazel shouted at me to cut Annabeth's ankle was confusion, why would I cut my girlfriend's ankle off?
But when I looked to where Annabeth had been,I saw that she was being pulled towards the pit by something tired around her ankle, spider-silk.
"Annabeth!" I screamed, spinning around to grab her hand, but I missed.
Rescuing Nico must have taken more out of me than I had realised, I hadn't reacted fast enough to grab her.
But I wouldn't let her fall. Never.
"Percy!" Annabeth shouted, she was being pulled closer to the pit every second.
I lunged towards her, and grabbed her hand just as she was pulled into the hole.
"Percy," She said, clise to tears, "please just let me go!"
"No Annabeth! You're not going to diwle, you hear me? I will never let you die, never!
She smiled up at me, and her eyes meet mine, both of us were crying now, but neither of us cared.
"I love you seaweed brain."
"I love you too wisegirl, but you're not going to fall okay? Promise me you won't let go?"
"Athena always has a plan Percy, but not all of them are perfect. I love you, stay strong for me, okay?" she looked at me.with so muchlove in her eyes, and yet so much sadness, it dawned on me a moment too late what she was goung to do.
"Annabeth no don't!-" I screamed as she let go of my hand, and fell into the dark abyss below.
"No... no, no! Annabeth! ANNABETH!"
"Oh gods, Annabeth..." I heard Hazel wisper behind me.
This couldn't be happening, she couldn't be gone... she couldn't!
His wisegirl... she was gone.
And she was never coming back.
