So this was it?

Here she stood, breathing real air.
Not the air that had been through filters to make sure it was pure, not air that had been reycled over a unrealistc amount of times.

but real, true air.

Ashy blue eyes fluttered shut as her chest caved against her body; trying to take in as much as it could get. As far as she could remember, this had to be the greatest moment of her life.
A forgein smile found it's way to her lips as she scanned the horizen, had the sky always been so blue? Had clouds always looked so soft?

She stepped back; takeing a seat on the companion cube that GLaDOS had so kindly given her. Her head was tilted back as far as it could go, her eyes had glued on one cloud imparticular. She found herself stareing at this cloud until it drifted out of her sight, this had to be the first time she had ever done something that she knew wouldn't get her killed.

Now she looked infront of her, trying to remember what she was surrounded by. The word wheat came to mind, trusting her self, she figured that's what it was. She stood; grabbing her faithful cube shaped compaion, she had to find something, something else alive, something to prove that this world was the same as it was the last time she saw it.

It took six long, tireing hours of traveling through what seemed like endless wheat feilds to finally find what she was looking for. She placed the cube that had caused her arms to become rather sore from carrying down beside her before she dropped to her knees.

There on the ground, stood a caltrops flower. She brought her hands up to her mouth as silent sobs wracked her body; tears covering her new discovery. The small flower and herself had something in common.

they were both alive and free.
