Authors Note: I… Really can't believe I'm posting this… This is horrible of me. I only wrote this to get the idea of it out of my head, I swear! I'm experiencing serious writers block with Doom Camp, and when that happens, I write one shots. Basically, this is a DATR, but with a twist… a terribly morbid, tear-jerking twist… Dear Irk, this is such a horrendous story, and I hate myself for even thinking of it. Sob God, I need professional help. SOMEBODY CALL THE WHITE COATS, CART ME AWAY! BWAAAAAAA!

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the IZ characters. Wish I did, but tough kittens… Tough kittens? Did I really just say…? Oh God, somebody shoot me… Anyhow, the almighty Jhonen Vasquez owns these guys. Not me. Jhonen… Not me... Jhonen. Okay? Okay. D

Chapter One: Not a Morning Person

Dib yawned into his orange juice, rubbing his eyes drowsily. He had never been a morning person, especially with the prospect of another six hours stuck in Ms. Bitters' class hanging over his head. Of course, it didn't help that the entirety of his classmates thought him to be insane.

"Dib, did you finish off the Sugar Coated Monkey Chunks?"

He glanced to his little sister, blinking slowly. "Huh? Oh. Yeah, I did. Sorry, Gaz."

Gaz growled furiously, crushing the empty cereal box in her fist. "I was going to eat that, Dib. You're going to pay for that after Skool, I promise you."

Dib groaned, rubbing his head. Great, just what he needed. A pummeling. He reluctantly got up from the table, taking his bowl to the sink.

…………………

"WAIT UP! WAIIIIIT!" He panted, running to catch up with the bus. Finally, he slowed to a halt as the bus disappeared behind the corner. The bus driver didn't like Dib much, so of course he didn't stop. He growled furiously. Now he was going to be late. He started running towards the park. He could cut through there and maybe be able to make it to Skool before the bell rang.

After a few minutes, he spotted the park up ahead. "I'm making good time!" he said aloud to himself, and grinned. Suddenly, something caught his eye. He stopped abruptly, staring at the entrance to an alley a few yards away. He'd just seen something… or someone… bright green dart into there. He narrowed his eyes. "Zim," He glanced towards the park entrance. He knew he was going to be late, but it would be worth it if he could catch Zim in the act of an evil plan. He walked over to the alley, peering inside.

None of the morning light managed to make it into the alley. He could barely see a thing… He pressed on anyway. He crept silently down the alley, squinting to see into the darkness ahead. He suddenly heard an odd, metallic sound. He narrowed his eyes, taking a careful step forward.

"Hello, Dib."

His eyes widened. There was a flash of light. He felt an electric surge throughout his body, and then… nothing. He blacked out.

Authors Note: …Yeah… I just realized… Can this be considered a one shot if there's more than one chapter? I hope so… Oh, I really don't care. By all means, call me on it or whatever… I'm going to bed. I was only able to finish this because HeCallsMeHisChild wasn't online to role play with me. Sob …By the way, read HeCallsMeHisChild's stuff. Amazing work right there, and all of it reminds me that I'll amount to nothing. Squee! .
