THE DARK BROTHER

BOOK 1: FALL AND RISE

Chapter 1: The Resurrection

He awoke with a start. His golden eyes a flare with anger. Months had past since that day. Since the battle and yet he still dreamt about it. The Devourer falling all around him, his plan so carefully constructed over the months. And it had all fell to ruin.

Worst of all Sky had felt the worst pain imaginable when his former lover a certain Darlene Turner betrayed him and killed him. For that he would make her pay dearly. As well as for the one who had stopped the Devourer.

Sky's own brother, the Avatar and his lover a Togruta female known as Ahsoka Tano. They appeared in his nightmares many many times, Ahsoka destroying Sky's beautiful machine. Alex locked in a deadly Lightsaber duel against Sky himself. The clash of Red against blue, Alex gaining the upper hand and Sky loosing the war.

"No." He growled. The room around him shook violently. A side effect of his growing power in the dark Side of the Force. Everyone thought him to be dead, but through an alliance with the most powerful being in the universe, Sky was brought back from the brink of death and now went by his new moniker: The Dark Brother, the person he was always destined to become.

He was human, 21 years of age, he had golden eyes and dark black hair, he was wearing black clothing from head to toe, and he was angry. Angry at everything, in the months following his return, Sky had been apprentice to Darth Sidious, training for the moment that he would soon take his revenge against the Avatar and his friends.

Little did his own Master know that Sky had a plan of his own. One that would reveal itself in time. Suddenly his train of thought was interrupted by the sound of his Holo messenger. He clicked it on. In the months since the resurrection Sky had been getting such calls like this. And right on cue, the shadowy holographic image of Darth Sidious rose from the small circle device.

"Greetings," Sidious said with an uncaring voice, the Hologram took two paces and brought up news from the Holonet. "I thought this would grab your attention." The image zoomed in, it was the latest news, apparently there had been a recent sabotage at Black Technologies, the Avatar and Ahsoka Tano had been invited by the CEO to investigate. Ahsoka Tano, with the help of the Avatar of course had found out who was responsible. A Chiss named Thrawn. The CEO named Charlotte had been forced to do-operate with the Chiss and in the process device known as the Hyper Portal. Constructed from the remains of Sky's own Devourer he noticed, had been switched on, but it wasn't properly stable.

Luckily Ahsoka had managed to work with Charlotte to stop the device before it could cause any major damages. But Thrawn emerged victorious in his battle with the Avatar, unfortunately for him though the Chiss was arrested and banished back to his own people. The whereabouts of the Avatar after the battle were unknown.

Sky's eyes widened and he could see the hint of a smile on his master's mouth. Sidious turned off the Holonet and turned to face Sky. "I take it," Sky sighed, knowing what would come of this. "You were responsible for this incident?" Sidious said nothing but his the fact that he was calling to tell Sky about this, all but proved his theory. "No word, on my brothers whereabouts?"

"The pathetic Togruta girl is working with that CEO." Sidious said in angry tone of voice, "to try and bring him back." Those words caught Sky off guard, so much so that he let Sidious notice, he almost never let his Master know about his emotions. "He fell, through the portal." Sidious explained as if reading his thoughts. Then he quickly changed the subject. "This is not the reason why I summoned you."

Of course not. Sidious always had an alterer motive when it came to calls like this. And as if on cue the image of some random Jedi Master came into the view. The hologram image stood in place, but Sky clearly recognised who it was, the species was a Twilek female from the Planet of Ryloth. This particular Jedi was one of Sky's former friends. "Jedi Master Lena." Sky gasped. He hadn't seen her in so long.

Too many adventures with Alex and his eventual turn into The Dark Brother. "She is to be your first test." Sidious said, he then explained Sky's mission like he always did. He explained the usual, like how this Jedi was getting close to unmasking Sidious. But Sky knew better. They almost never did. This was always Sky's task. "This particular Jedi will be the first to fall." Sidious stopped and corrected himself. "The first of many." He smiled "the day is coming my young Apprentice, And with the apparent disappearance of your brother." He chuckled "now is the time to strike." He then added a word of warning. "Be careful when you engage this Jedi. I trust you remember her particular ability."

Sky nodded. He remembered Lena's special ability to manipulate emotions and thoughts. With the Force, this ability was ten times more powerful. Lena was a true Master, it was a wonder no one had assigned her a Padawan learner, "I will try my best." He added a bow to make Sidious pleased. "She will be a tough opponent."

"Hopefully a worthy one." Sidious chuckled, "I am transferring her current co-ordinates to you." They appeared in the Hologram and the image of a non-descript Starship appeared next to the co-ordinates, "your ship, for travel and other uses." Sky took the Hologram and the images dissolved, leaving only the image of Sidious. "Do not fail." Sky watched as the ghostly image of the man who had brought him back from the dead vanished.

With no choice. Sky switched off the Holomessenger and pocketed it. He had his own reasons for following Sidious. But he also had plans. Plans that would not fail. With the Battle of the Brothers having come to an end with Sky's supposed death. Sky smirked at this. People thought that his journey was over. But as The Dark Brother, he was on a different path now. This brand new journey was only just the beginning...
