Jason was beat. Morphing into the Red Might Morphin Power Ranger after so many years was exhausting. It was great to get together with Tommy and fight against evil again; but after almost dying when he rejected Trey's Gold Ranger Powers during his time as a Zeo Ranger, Jason was completely exhausted and wanted nothing more than to climb onto his Hog and head back home. That wasn't going to be possible right now. The NASADA officials wanted to debrief every one of the Earth's Rangers before they left; so now Jason was sitting in an uncomfortable plastic waiting room chair with Leo, Wes, Eric, Andros, Cole, and Carter while Tommy was in the adjoining office giving his debriefing to the government officials.
Jason tried to get comfortable; but in the chair he was sitting in it just wasn't possible. He shifted restlessly in an attempt to get relaxed and cast an envious glance at Andros, Leo, Carter, Eric, and Cole who where already sleeping soundly in the chairs they occupied. Jason sighed and Wes looked over at him with an identical expression of misery on his face.
"This sucks!" Wes said quietly.
"Yeah, it does." Jason replied with a grimace as he shifted again. "They could have at least given us decent chairs to sit in. How the hell can they sleep in these damned things?"
"Don't know." Wes said with a small frown.
"Mr. Myers!" A female voice called as the door to the adjoining office opened up. "You're turn, sir." Wes and Jason watched in awe as Eric's eyes snapped open; he stood up, and then walked calmly and easily into the room.
By the time the nine red Rangers were debriefed, it was almost eight o'clock in the morning. Jason wearily climbed onto his Harley and started the engine. Damned bureaucrats could have at least let all of us leave together; but no, we have to leave right after our briefings. Only nine of us and it took them all night and we have to go through everything from the time we took off until we landed on Earth repeatedly. Idiots!
Jason carefully guided his motorcycle through the morning work traffic of Angel Grove and pulled into his driveway with a grateful and tired sigh of relief. He dismounted and made his way to the front door. Just as he reached for the doorknob, the door flew open and his housemate stood there with a frown on his face.
"Where were you last night?" The question was demanded and almost shouted in his face, as he was jerked into the house simultaneously.
"Debriefing and they left me for last." Jason replied with a smile as he was wrapped into a huge hug. "God, I want coffee or I'll fall over while trying to teach today."
Jason smiled as Tommy released him from the hug and led him into the kitchen of their home.
