"I love you, Remus!" Tonks insisted. "I will always love you!"

"You shouldn't," Remus whispered, his voice pained. "I'm a monster, Tonks. You deserve so much better."

"No one is better than you, Remus. I don't want anyone else- I want you."

They'd been having this argument for months. Remus insisting he was a monster, Tonks saying that she loved him.

Finally, Remus agreed to go on a date with her. And that was just the beginning of their love story.

It was hard to fall in love with an upcoming war, but they managed to. When they weren't together, they would write letters. If they didn't get the chance to talk at the Order of the Phoenix meetings, they would stare at each other across the table. They had each fallen head-over-heels in love and no one could say otherwise.

It didn't come as a surprise to anyone when Remus proposed. It didn't come as a surprise when Tonks said yes. And it definitely didn't come as a surprise when Tonks announced she was pregnant.

The first time he laid his eyes on his son was one of the best moments of his life. He had a wife and a child. He had a family- a true family that loved each other.

She loved seeing so happy. There were times, before they were married, when she wondered whether she would ever see him this happy. There were times when she wondered whether he would ever realize that he wasn't a monster.

It warmed her heart to see him like this.

"I love you, Remus," she whispered to her husband, as they played with Teddy, one day. He looked over at her, and smiled.

"I love you too, Dora."
