Crossover Challenge
Now, I want to make one thing *perfectly* clear: I loathe the Harry Potter series. I found the books dull, dry, and unappealing. Thus, I know next to nothing about the exact storyline. However, the following concept is something that won't leave me alone, and since I can't write it myself (without butchering the series to the point all the HP fans would call for my head on a plate) it behooves me to put forth the following challenge.
Concept: Dr. Stephen Strange takes Harry as his apprentice. In essence Harry Potter trained by the Sorcerer Supreme.
Preferred details: It should be the animated film version of Dr. Strange ("Matter is energy, which is all around us. Sorcery is the art of wielding that energy") in order to separate/differentiate Sorcery from Wizardry & Witchcraft. Also it would be awesome if Strange appeared while Harry is "on trial" in the MoM and publicly claimed him as his apprentice. He should make it clear that he does NOT think Harry is capable of being his successor; he simply thinks the boy has too much immense potential that is being wasted, not to mention Voldemort is as much a threat as any the Sorcerer Supreme fights.
Details on animated version of Strange: More specifically, how sorcery works. As stated before, "Sorcery" is similar to how it is explained in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" with Nick Cage: it is simply using the mind to control matter and energy on an atomic/subatomic level. Essential for this is "accepting the unacceptable"-basically that limitations only exist because we perceive them to. The Ancient One demonstrated this to Strange by showing how if you perceive a two-ton block of stone as light as a feather you can pull it with a single finger. However, each sorcerer must have a "medium" for their power, be it flame, wood, a cloth scarf, sand, etc. Only the Sorcerer Supreme can use any medium or method, thus making them the most powerful. But there are skills each sorcerer is taught, such as how to create swords, shields, and other weapons from thin air. The Sorcerer Supreme is entrusted with the All-Seeing Eye of Agamotto, which is an amplifier for their power; the lesser sorcerers under his/her command have lesser versions of the Eye that let them see things that are invisible or hidden. Dr. Strange himself has a rare and unique form of sorcery, in that he can absorb the magic of others and use it against them; he ends up using this in the animated film to absorb the being Dormammu, who is godlike due to being composed entirely of magic. Sorcerers are trained similar to how initiates at a Buddhist monastery are, through physical labor until they learn to "accept the unacceptable", at which time they learn sorcery, martial arts and how to use the weapons they create. In essence they are not warriors or soldiers, but guardians, yet they fight a war to prevent other dimensions from conquering Earth's dimension.
