He doesn't love me. I know he doesn't. I wish he did. But what's the point, my wishes never come true.
I was headed home, carrying the basket full of fruit I was supposed to get for my mom. It was a hot day and I had decided, before I went home, to cool myself. I sat by the stream and set the basket to the side. I cupped my hands under the water. The water was cool and clean. I brought the water up in my hands and rubbed it in my face. I did this a couple more times, then I stopped when I noticed a different reflection.
I stared at the water, trying to make out the figure. As the ripples in the water calmed, I recognized the person. It was Parker. I stared at his reflection for a long while, him staring back at me.
I slowly stood up, I picked up the basket and walked away, not once looking back.
As I was walking towards the trees, Kakashi instantly appeared in front of me.
Somehow I knew that was coming.
He stared into my eyes, deep into my soul. ''Why do you run from me?'' He asked, calmly.
I looked away, silently.
''Are you afraid of me?'' He asked. ''Do I frighten you?''
I stared over at a tree, not really focusing on it. Just thinking. ''No.'' I said softly.
''Then why have you been running from me, like a mouse from a cat?'' He asked.
I did not say anything. I slowly turned around. My back to Kakashi.
''Love isn't real.'' I said softly.
''Why do you say that?''
''There are a lot of reasons why.'' I said.
SAKURA and INO…
''He likes her!'' Sakura shrieked.
''Yeah. I can't believe it either.'' Ino said.
''What does she have that I don't?''
''He probably likes her because she's not all fan-girlish about him.''
''SHUT UP SHIKAMARU!'' The girls shouted.
''Well it's true.'' He mumbles to himself.
''You know, it's probably because she doesn't chase him down. Maybe he likes her because she doesn't give him the time of day.'' TenTen said.
''I know my Sasuke, and he is nothing like that.'' Ino said.
''Your Sasuke? Don't you mean mine?'' Sakura said.
''No I don't.''
''Well he's practically mine, since we have basically the same name.''
''That doesn't make a bit-a difference.''
''Yes it does. It means I have dibbs.''
''I'm out of here.'' Shikamaru said yawning.
''No it doesn't, It means I do.'' Ino shouted.
''Yeah, I'll come with you.'' TenTen said jumping up and following Shikamaru to the door.
REMA and KAKASHI…
I shifted the basket. ''I have to go. My mom is probably worrying.'' I said, and began to walk around him.
Right when I thought he was about to just let me go, he grabbed a hold of my arm.
''Please…let's talk about this.'' He said.
I stopped, but I did not turn around. ''There's nothing to talk about. I know the answers. I've come up with a conclusion.''
He released my arm. ''And what conclusion is that?'' He asked.
I sighed and turned around, but I did not look into his eyes.
''I've concluded that...you don't love me...and that we can never be together.'' I said.
There was a long silence. I wondered what he was thinking about. What was his expression.
''Well.'' I said, shifting the basket. ''I need to get these home.'' I turned around and headed back home. This time, Kakashi didn't follow.
