The City (The Autumn Monologue)

Once sunny lakeside town

Now the heartless beast we see stood before us

I stand alone in the rain

The rain of the city

Crying out my heartache

The city of metal

Cold, where no one cares about you

They only care for their profit

The profit from selling your soul

Where they'd sell you down the river

For a finick of a promise of fame

A place where the leaves soon withered and died

And replaced with a new false world

This place is "better" says the machine

Truly, truly

The damage was unforeseen

Glass and fire

Is this revenge?

The machine sends wave after wave of people at the problem

There are plenty more where they came from

You have to see past the façade

To see that the decisions we made

Were wrong

This is truly autumn
