This takes place almost right after the masquerade ball. I do not own Van Helsing. Sadly.

Anna was leaning against a tree, contemplating the fight she had just had with Van Helsing.

You have to be more careful... I think you should go home. I don't wan- We don't need you hurt. You need to go, It's safer, because of your family...
He had said.
She had replied quickly, and somewhat angrily, and could not remember what she had said exactly.
Why do you care so much? You're just a- a murderer! I have more right than you to be here, so- so let me be!
And He had wandered off to formulate a plan, deeply hurt.
He had wanted to say, I don't want you hurt.
But He hadn't, He couldn't.A rustling noise came from the bushes. Anna drew her sword, eyes blazing with pent-up fury and frustration at, even now, being hunted.
A rather girlish squeak sounded, and Carl dropped the book he was holding onto his toe in surprise, and began hopping around, holding on to his toe, until the 'agony' finally died down.
"Are you INSANE, Anna?"
Anna made a 'hmph' noise and turned away, Her chocolate waves moving back and forth slightly before, once again, settling on her shoulders.
"Well, someone's in a bad mood. Where's Van Helsing? I might have found something important."
"Carl."
"What?"
"Leave."
"Why?"
"I want to be alone."
"Why?"
"CARL!"
"I'm not going until you tell me."
"Aren't you supposed to be a nice monk?"
"I'm a Friar."
"I not going to tell you."
Carl paused, thinking . "Did you fight with him?"
"..."
"I'll take that as a yes." He picked up his book, holding it in front of his chest.
"He wants me to go back."
"That's unreasonable, They'd find you and we wouldn't know."
Anna just looked at Carl, and turned towards him.
"What?"
"I said that that would be unreasonable."
Anna, feeling slightly better, walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek before running off to find Van Helsing.

"...You're welcome?"

You can take that as just a 'lil bit of CarlxAnna, or random pep-talking. R&R, especially if you like.
