Note: Not usually my cup of tea, don't even read really dark stuff, but wouldn't go away. First drabble. Not easy, using only 100 words.

A routine ride many nights. But not tonight. If someone had witnessed it, they would have seen sparkling showers and a careening headlight. They would have heard squealing rubber, screeching metal, breaking glass, then the muted snap of breaking bones. A sickening thump as the engine died. Later, they might have heard the wet gasp that signaled regaining consciousness, then the soft whine that meant it was lost again. But no one was there. They found her in the morning, and nothing could be done.
They found him two days later, in his living room, and nothing could be done.
