Ray Tanaka: Hey, everyone. So, as a final way of updating this story, I've rewritten this chapter with the Brotherhood Outcasts instead of my OCs. Basically, I decided to cut out any original characters in the series and will only use either real warrior or established fictional warriors. I hope you guys enjoy it and special thanks to MKDemigodZ-Warrior for giving me a few pointers on this one.
The Mobile Infantry
(A man wearing grey combat armor and a grey tactical helmet is standing in front of a black background, before the man aims his rifle at the viewer.)
The futuristic soldiers who become citizens of the Federation by serving in their military forces.
(A soldier in the Mobile Infantry fires at an Arachnid with his Morita MK I Rifle and quickly causes the alien to drop to the ground before the soldier blows a hole in its head.)
The Brotherhood Outcasts
(A person wearing a set of power armor with red paint marks on it is shown standing in front of the same background, with a strange rifle in their hand at the ready.)
Survivors of the apocalypse that have splintered from the Brotherhood of Steel to continue their original mission.
(A Brotherhood Outcast uses the AER9 Laser Rifle to kill a raider charging at them before taking out a Ripper and slashing a second raider's neck.)
WHO IS DEADLIEST?
To find out, our world class fighters are testing history's most lethal weapons. Using twenty-first century science, we'll see what happens when the two warriors go toe to toe.
No rules, No safety, No mercy: It's a duel to the death to decide who is...
The Deadliest Warrior
In the fight club, two people in grey combat armor over black t-shirts are checking two different rifles that they will use, while a man and woman in power armor are ensuring that their weapons are ready for use in the testing.
Welcome to the Fight Club, where a team of scientists, doctors, and combat experts take aim to see to see who would win in a grudge match between two of military forces from the future of mankind.
The Mobile Infantry: The ground forces of the United Citizens Federation that is the pathway for every human being to become a citizen.
Vs...
The Brotherhood Outcasts: A military force in the post apocalypse that splintered off the Brotherhood of Steel to continue their original mission.
Mobile Infantry
Height: 5'9
Weight: 169 lbs.
Gear: 18.36 lbs.
Armor: Combat Armor & M3 Helmet
Brotherhood Outcasts
Height: 5'11
Weight: 174 lbs.
Gear: 18.68 lbs.
Armor: T-45d Power Armor
A man with brown hair wearing a green jacket over a white shirt with brown pants and a lightsaber on his belt is looking over a strange rifle with interest.
Lead biomedical scientist and Jedi Knight, Marcus Jennir, will test the lethality of the weapons that these military forces carry.
"This match-up is interesting to me due to their weaponry," Marcus Jennir says, "These two warriors are bringing weapons that I never thought would have been created."
A woman with brown hair in a doctor's surgical outfit and a lab coat is checking out a bullet wound on a ballistics gel torso.
Forensic scientist and surgeon, Hope Woods, will determine if the weapons are able to create any serious injuries.
"I'm interested in the wounds that will kill the person," Hope Wood clarifies, "Add in the fact that these two warriors will be wearing armor, this will be interesting."
A man with cybernetic gear on the left side of his face that has a red light which is his eye and a trench coat that covers his body is at a computer typing at a quick pace.
Former Cybernetic Police Enforcer and computer whiz, Dexter "Hacker" Reed, will input the weapon's test data into a computer program developed by Slytherine Studios that will determine the winner.
"For this match up, it will be firearms for half of the weapons," states Dexter, "This match up will be simulated as a squad-on-squad battle to limit the chances of a lucky win."
Due to the deadly weapons that these warriors carry, the simulation will generate a five-on-five battle to the death. Five soldiers of the Mobile Infantry will go up against five members of the Brotherhood Outcast. The winner will be the Deadliest Warrior.
A man with dirty blond hair hair is clad in grey armor over his military uniform while performing maneuvers with an assault rifle.
Juan "Johnny" Rico, a lieutenant of the Mobile Infantry credited for helping capture the Brain Bug, will lead the charge for the military force.
"These people haven't gone through the training we have been through," Johnny Rico comments smirkingly, "Which will give the Mobile Infantry victory."
A man with blond hair wearing the same armor as Rico is checking a carbine rifle to make sure it's ready for the testing.
Private Ace Levy, a soldier who's fought alongside Rico on the battlefield, will help his friend test the weapons their military uses.
"These bucket heads don't know what they are up against," Ace says mockingly, "We had to fight to survive even when we're in boot camp!"
After the collapse of national governments, a group of veterans in Scotland formed a vigilante group to stop people from looting and rioting. This group would later become the United Citizen Federation and founded the Federal Armed Services to act as the primary defense force. The Mobile Infantry, the primary military arm of the Federation Army, are a light-armored infantry of volunteer soldiers.
"We don't need to be in the armed services if we want," Johnny Rico adds, "But there's something to work for if we decide to serve."
As the government was founded by veterans, those who volunteer to join the Federal Service will be allowed franchise after two years and more rights than normal citizens such as voting, lower tuitions for college, and having more than two children. Those who serve in the Mobile Infantry, much like the other branches of the Federal Armed Services, are on call during time of both peace and war.
"For us, there's no rest," Ace tells the camera, "And we aren't going down without a fight."
The Mobile Infantry experts are confident in their victory, but their challengers are just as confident.
A lightly tanned man with brown hair is wearing a set of black and red heavy armor as he preps a battle rifle for testing.
Rococo Rockfowl, a defender and heavy weapons specialist of the Brotherhood Outcasts, will be leading the Outcasts into battle.
"The Capital Wasteland is a hostile place to live," Rococo says as he looks at the camera, "Either your tougher and deadlier than everyone else or end up being killed for supplies."
An African-American woman wearing the same armor as Rococo while she swings around a handheld chainsaw despite it being off.
Anne Marie Morgan, a fellow defender and soldier of the Outcasts, will help her fellow soldier test the weapons they normally wield.
"You don't just have to deal with other humans in the wasteland," Anne comments, "You have to also deal with mutants and whatever creatures you come across."
Believing the leader of the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel had lost sight of the Brotherhood's true mission and the original reason for their presence in the Capital Wasteland, a group of dissidents led by Henry Casdin broke ties from the East Coast Brotherhood and became their own faction in the wasteland.
"To us, Ahab is simply chasing his super mutant white whale," Anne adds with a smirk, "So we simply left to follow the goal that we were assigned."
After leaving in the middle of the night and traveling north, they took up residence in Fort Independence and continued the mission to the recovery and preservation of advance pre-War technology. Labeled by their former brothers and sisters as "Outcasts", these dissidents adopted their moniker as a badge of honor and distinguished themselves from the organization they no longer serve by painting their armor red and black.
"We have a goal that we need to achieve," Rococo states, "And that's enough motivation for use to succeed."
However, what do our experts think about these two warriors?
"I'm going to have to lean with the Brotherhood Outcasts," Marcus seems to answer, "These guys have to survive in a wasteland against other survivors."
"The Mobile Infantry are a military branch with the best weapons they can get," Hope says as she explains her stance, "I have no doubt that they'll be able to secure victory."
A factor that the Mobile Infantry is willing to show off with their trademark weapon.
Rico picks up the Mortica Rifle and preps it before smiling and walking away from the table.
The Mortica MK I Rifle: The standard assault rifle of the Mobile Infantry that combines two weapons into a single weapon.
Mortica MK I Rifle
Length: 38.8 inches
Weight: 8.2 lbs.
Range: 500 meters
Ammo: .308 Winchester/12-gauge
Rounds in Magazine: 50 bullets/5 shells
Firing System: Gas-operated, rotating bolt/Pump-action
"This is the Mortica Mark 1 Rifle," Rico tells the experts as he shows off the rifle, "The standard rifle of our military forces and how we mess our enemies up."
"I see that you guys have a shotgun attachment," Dexter says.
"That's right, sir," Ace replies in acknowledgment, "Which means that we have two ways of taking someone out."
"Well, we have a test set up for you outside," Hope says as the experts lead them to outside the building.
To test the Mortica Rifle, a test has been created to see the performance of the weapon.
"Oh, nice!" Rico says amusingly as he sees small brick walls and barrels in front of three ballistics form torsos.
A small course has been set up with three form torsos behind cover. The objective: take out all three targets in the fastest time possible.
Rico kneels behind two barrels as he loads a magazine into the rifle and gets himself prepared.
"Okay, Lieutenant, are you ready?"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"On three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
In an instant, Rico stands up fires a burst from his rifle and scoring a hit on the closest target's head. Firing a few bullets at the next one, the lieutenant quickly runs from behind the barrels to a small brick wall and crotches down behind it. Without a delay in his actions, Rico takes aim at the next target and fires another burst of bullets. However, most hit the wall and only two hit the shoulder of the target.
Firing another burst of bullets, the lieutenant manages to score hits on the neck and chest of the second target. Getting up and running towards the position of the third target, Rico fires a few rounds before the rifle clicks empty. With the bullets failing to hit the target and now standing about ten feet away, he pulls the second trigger and fires off the shotgun, blowing a hole through in the chest of the torso. He quickly works the action of the weapon before the head of the torso gets blown open with another pull of the trigger.
"Done!"
"One minute and five second!" Marcus says as he and the other walk towards the obstacle course.
"Okay, so your first rounds was excellently placed," Hope says while examining the targets, "You hit this guy in his forehead and dropped him almost instantly. For his buddy, the wall protected him briefly but the wounds he has will kill him shortly after being hit."
"Do we need to discuss our last target?" Ace asks with a laugh, resting his elbow on last target.
"Well, your right," Dexter replies, "It's pretty easy to see what happened."
Despite the damage, the Brotherhood Outcasts are not impressed.
"I see one problem with having that shotgun attachment," Anne tells Rico, "You have to take a second to use the second trigger to make full use of it."
"And besides, we have a weapon that can match your rifle," Rococo adds while holding the R91 Rifle in his hands.
The R91 Rifle: A general-purpose automatic rifle that is favored in the Capital Wasteland and known for its reliability in combat.
R91 Rifle
Length: 42.5 inches
Weight: 10.9 lbs.
Range: 500 meters
Ammo: 5.56x45mm NATO
Rounds in Magazine: 24 bullets
Firing System: Roller-delayed blowback
"This is the R91 Rifle," Anne states to the experts while holding the rifle, "An urban assault rifle that is popular with many groups in the Wasteland."
"It's that reliable, huh?" Marcus asks.
"That's correct," Rococo replies, "Otherwise it wouldn't have been as popular."
"Well, let's test it out," Dexter says before the experts lead them outside.
The R91 Rifle will be tested in the same small course and objective. Eliminate the targets as quickly as possible.
Anne kneels behind the two barrels at the start of the course as she loads the weapon and prepares herself.
"Anne, are you ready?"
"Ready!"
"On three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
Without hesitation, Anne stands up before firing a burst of bullets and hits the head of the closest target. Firing a burst of bullets at the second target and scoring a shoulder hit, Anne quickly runs from behind the barrels to a small brick wall and crotches down. Acting quickly, she takes aim at the same target with another burst that mostly hits the wall. However, a bullet hits the neck of the target.
Moving her cross-hairs to the last target, she fires another burst of ammo that ends up hitting the wall with only one hitting just below the left shoulder. Getting out from behind the wall, she runs to the target's position and quickly closes the gap before striking it with the butt of her rifle. Quickly taking aim again, she fires a single round into the forehead before pulling the bolt back and taking out the magazine.
"Done!"
"One minute and eleven seconds!" Marcus says while he and the others walk over to the obstacle course.
"Your shots were very well placed," Hope explains while looking at the targets, "You dropped this guy without much trouble. The second target didn't give you any trouble and you essentially delivered a head shot to your last target."
"And I still have a few rounds remaining," Anne proudly states as she shows a bullet still in the magazine.
"That's nice," Ace remarks, "But we were able to get through faster than you."
"And besides," Rico adds, "We have armor protecting our chests, so it won't help you in the long run."
"We can say the same with our armor," Rococo replies quickly, "So, not much of an argument there."
Now, with both rifles tested, which one do our experts believe will get the edge?
"I have to give the edge to the R91," Marcus tells Hope and Dexter, "Its more accurate in comparison and proves that it's a reliable weapon in the Wasteland."
"I'm afraid I'll have to disagree," Dexter replies, "The Mortica Rifle has more ammo in its magazine and has the secondary shotgun attachment."
"The killing power behind the shotgun attachment is devastating," Hope says in agreement, "And having the option to use it gives the user more to work with."
For long range weapons, the Mobile Infantry gets the edge with the Mortica Mk I Rifle.
As our experts get ready to continue the testing to determine the victor between the Mobile Infantry and the Brotherhood Outcasts, there is one factor that can't be programmed into a computer.
An X-Factor, and for the Mobile Infantry, it was their harsh training that gave them an edge on the battlefield.
"We weren't safe in boot camp and could die if something went wrong," Rico states calmly, "However, we still did what was needed to keep going."
On the other hand, the Brotherhood Outcasts are driven by a singular goal.
"The brotherhood was tasked with recovering and preserving pre-War technology," Rococo says to the camera, "And we split from our brothers and sisters to ensure that it was done."
And in the wastelands, the Outcasts used a deadly weapon for close quarters combat.
Rococo picks up a Ripper from the table before briefly turning it on and smiling from the noise.
The Ripper: A weaponized chainsaw that gained its name from how it rips through foes with ease.
Ripper
Blade Length: 9.5 inches
Length: 17.8 inches
Weight: 2.75 lbs.
Substance: Steel and mechanisms
"This is the Ripper," Rococo tells the experts, "A rare sight in the Capital Wasteland and one of the deadliest melee weapons you can find."
"So, this is a weaponized version of a chainsaw?" Dexter asks with a smirk.
"Exactly," Anne answers quickly.
"Well, how about we test it out?" Marcus asks as he leads them over to the testing area.
To test the capabilities of the Ripper, the weapon will be tested on the closest thing to a human: a pig carcass.
Rococo walks around the pig suspended from the ceiling before standing in front of the carcass.
"Rococo, are you ready?"
His only response is turning on the Ripper.
"In three," Dexter counts down, "Two, one, carve it up!"
Rococo quickly brings the weapon down on the midsection of the pig with the teeth cutting through the flesh and bone. Within only three seconds, the weapon leaves the body and a fountain of blood flows from the wound. Bringing the weapon to the pig's neck, he uses the tip of the weapon to rip a wound that sprays blood on the camera.
"Done!"
"Holy (BLEEP)," Dexter says in surprise, "I've never seen these kinds of wounds from a chainsaw."
"Okay," Hope states as she looks over the wounds on the pig, "I think we can safely say that this person would bleed out from these wounds very quickly. Even if they manage to only be wounded, those teeth are going to do some damage."
"Yeah, that's a fine show," Ace says, "It's very gore, but you forget we have armor."
To emphasize this, he uses his hand to tap on his armor.
"Well, let's test it then," Anne responds with a smirk.
To test how much protection the Combat Armor gives, a set of armor has been fitted onto a ballistics form torso.
Rococo stands in front of the foam torso wearing the armor and the M3 Helmet before once again activating the Ripper.
"Rococo, on three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
With a quick slash, Rococo uses the tip of the weapon to rip into the unprotected face before grabbing the handle with both hands. In a single motion, he performs a thrust that has the teeth seemingly scrape against the armor. However, this is only for four seconds before the teeth break through and the weapon starts carving into the target.
"I think that covers it," Rococo says as he stops the Ripper and leaves it in the torso.
"I never thought I'd see a chainsaw cut through armor," Dexter says almost in disbelief.
"Not the worst I've seen," Marcus says, "But I wouldn't trust the armor against that kind of weapon."
Despite the evidence, the Mobile Infantry experts aren't fazed.
"So they have a weaponized chainsaw," Ace says before picking up an Infantry Knife, "But we have something that's a little more useful."
The Infantry Knife: The standard close quarters weapon for the Mobile Infantry that can be used up close or at a distance.
Infantry Knife
Blade Length: 7 inches
Length: 11.9 inches
Weight: 12 oz.
Substance: Steel
"This is our Infantry Knife," Ace says as he holds the knife in his hands, "It's a better choice for a fight than any ungainly chainsaw."
"So, this is made entirely of steel?" Marcus inquires as he's handed the knife.
"That's right, sir," Rico says, "It makes the weapon easier for mass production."
"Well, that'll make it more deadly," Hope remarks while Marcus hands the knife back.
To test the Infantry Knife, a ballistics gel torso has been set up. Ace will have to deliver six kills with the knife.
Ace smiles upon seeing the ballistics gel torso in front of him and nods before getting himself ready.
"Ace, are you ready?"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"On three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
Within a second, Ace delivers a stab to the left side of the chest under a rib before taking the knife out and slashing the neck to cause blood to pour out. Spinning the knife in his hand to be in a reverse grip, Ace delivers another stab to the right side of the chest and a third stab to the left eye. Twirling the knife back into its proper grip, Ace delivers one last slash across the stomach before walking away.
However, upon being seven feet away from the torso, he once again spins the weapon to grip the blade before turning around and throwing it. The blade flies through the air before embedding itself into the target's head.
"Man, you didn't hold back," Marcus states as the experts walk up to the gel torso.
Pulling out the knife of the skull, Hope hands it back to Ace as she says, "Great throwing arm."
"Thank you, sir," Ace replies with a smile.
"So, you manage to score a kill on each strike," Hope states as she explains the wounds, "The two stabs in the chest will cause delayed kills, but the stab to the eye managed to get into skull and to the brain. Both slashes will cause the target to slowly bleed out while the throw...well, its pretty obvious to see."
"I have one problem here," Anne states with relative calmness, "We have are own armor that can protect us from your weapon."
"You sure about that?" Rico smirkingly asks.
"Positive," is Rococo's only response.
Similar to the Combat Armor, another test will be performed with the Infantry Knife going up against the T-45d Power Armor.
Ace looks at the seemingly heavy suit of armor and helmet that makes it look like it came from the future. He walks around it while observing that it doesn't seem to have a weak point.
The T-45d Power Armor has been the standard armor of both the Brotherhood Outcasts and the Brotherhood of Steel they splintered from. Ace will have three strikes to prove the knife can get past the Power Armor.
Ace stands in front of the armor being held up by a manikin on the inside of it.
"Ace, are you ready?"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"On three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
Ace performs a slash that only manages to scrap against the metal. Pulling his arm back, he tries to perform a thrust that hits the center of the chest. However, it doesn't do anything and he lets out an annoyed sigh at seeing the tip of his knife bent. Turning around and walking seven feet, he quickly turns back around and throws the knife only for it to bounce off the armor to the ground.
"Well damn," Dexter says in slight surprise, "That didn't do anything."
"It did do something," Ace says in slight frustration, "It bent the tip of my knife."
With both close range weapons tested, its seems that one weapon has already claimed victory.
"The Infantry Knife is a great weapon for the Mobile Infantry," Dexter states, "But the Ripper managed to break through the Combat Armor while the Infantry Knife did almost nothing to the Power Armor."
For close range, the Brotherhood Outcasts get the edge with the Ripper.
Coming up, the Brotherhood Outcasts continue their assault with an explosive surprise, and the Mobile Infantry fire back with a rifle that's better suited for enclosed spaces.
The Mobile Infantry or the Brotherhood Outcasts: Who will be the Deadliest Warrior
Back in our fight club, we are one step closer to revealing who would win in a battle between the Mobile Infantry and the Brotherhood Outcasts.
While both military factions have an edge each, the Brotherhood Outcasts are ready to change the balance in their favor.
"Those soldiers won't know what's coming," Anne says as she grabs a deactivated mine from the table.
The Frag Mine: A devastating explosive that can surprise a foe and blow away any unfortunate soul who activates it.
Frag Mine
Diameter: 4.4 inches
Weight: 21.2 oz.
Fuse: MD-9
Substance: TNT and steel
"This is an old fashion mine," Anne states while holding the mine by its handle, "These you could find easily in the wastelands if your quick enough to defuse it."
"Already, this is a nasty devise," Hope says almost immediately, "Even if someone survives after it goes off, they'll be needing medical attention as quickly as possible."
"Something that's hard to find in the wastelands," Rococo remarks with a smirk.
"Well, let's head to the testing zone," Dexter says before the experts leave the building to a separate area outside.
Due to the nature of the weapon, a special test zone with three manikins representing the targets along with one wearing the Mobile Infantry's armor.
Anne with a live Frag Mine and Marcus walk to the three manikins with one having their leg forward and the furthest one from it is wearing the Combat Armor.
"Okay, so we have two shock watch stickers on these guys," Marcus tells Anne, "Tripping the green will register a kill while the purple mean their disoriented."
"Thanks for that," Anne says, "Now let's set this up."
Both quickly get to work getting the Frag Mine under the raised leg of the first manikin and attaching a remote trigger to the weapon.
To ensure the safest test, a remote trigger will be used to set off the Frag Mine.
Finishing, the two quickly hightail it to the other experts and the equipment behind ballistic glass.
"Anne, you ready?"
"Ready," Anne says while holding the trigger.
"Okay, on three," Marcus says, "Two, one, go."
Anne presses the trigger and the Frag Mine explodes, sending the target with its leg raised to the ground while missing said leg. While the second target can be seen with a few holes, the armored manikin seems perfectly fine.
"Well, I can tell we have already have a kill," Dexter comments as they approach the test zone.
"Okay, so the first target has his leg blown off," Hope states as she surveys the scene, "Typical injury from a land mine. The victim will bleed out if he doesn't seek help for it. Your second target has shrapnel in his gut and legs. He won't make it past a few minutes with these injuries."
"The Frag Mine is exactly what it's name calls it," Rococo says as Marcus looks at the shock watch stickers.
"Okay, the green is tripped on the first one, so he's dead either way," Marcus speaks out while looking over the manikins, "And your second target only has the purple one tripped, so he's disoriented while having the shrapnel in him."
Dexter takes the armor off before exclaiming in surprise, "Neither sticker is tripped here!"
"Which means that one of our guys isn't dead," Ace states with humor in his voice, "Perhaps you could use an explosive similar to what we have on hand."
The Mobile Infantry is ready to fight fire with fire using their signature weapon of destruction.
"I think one is enough," Ace states while picking up a deactivated grenade from the table.
The MX-90 Grenade: A mobile explosive so powerful, it's able to take out even the largest arachnid in a single stroke.
MX-90 Grenade
Length: 4 inches
Weight: 14 oz.
Blast Radius: 5 meters
Substance: High explosives and steel
"This here is the trusty MX-90 Grenade," Ace says confidently as he holds up the weapon, "Perfect for taking out personnel or arachnids."
"So you're answering a mine with a grenade?" Marcus asks.
"That's right," Rico smirkingly replies.
"Well, let's go test it," Dexter says before the experts leave for the testing zone.
The MX-90 Grenade will be tested the same way as the Frag Mine, with three manikins acting as targets with one wearing the Brotherhood Outcast's armor.
Ace with a live MX-90 Grenade and Marcus stand a good distance away from the three targets with one hidden within the T-45d Power Armor.
"So, those stickers will tell if they're disoriented or killed?" Ace asks with some confusion.
"Yep, the only ones we can't see are in the helmet," Marcus answers with the private nodding his head before giving him the grenade and starts talking to him.
Due to the short time delay on the MX-90 Grenade, Marcus has been given the task of throwing it before retreating back to safety.
"Okay," Ace asks, "You know how to do it?"
"Yes, sir," Marcus replies, receiving a pat on the shoulder before Ace quickly takes off back to the others and the equipment behind ballistic glass.
"Marcus, are you ready?"
"Ready!"
"On three," Dexter counts down, "Two, one, throw it!"
Marcus presses the button on top of the weapon and the pin quickly falls out before he throws the MX-90 about half a foot away from the first target. Turning around, the Jedi quickly uses Force Speed to seemingly teleport to the other experts and gets behind the glass.
BOOM!
A fiery explosion seemingly engulfs the three targets upon exploding, with the targets not being seen due to the fire. After a few minutes, the flames die down with one manikin down while burning and the other two still standing with the unarmored one on fire.
"Well, I can see why you got to do it," Ace chuckles while Marcus uses a fire extinguisher to blow out the flames on the two burning manikins.
"I don't think I need to say anything," Hope comments as she looks at the carnage, "The two who were unarmored would be dead from their burns and smoke inhalation. They might have some shrapnel in them, but that'll be hard to tell."
Dexter removes the helmet from the armored target before saying, "Green is tripped, so this guy's dead even with the armor."
"A little more flame than shrapnel with your explosive," Rococo states.
"Maybe true," Rico replies, "But our weapon got through your armor while your mine failed to even disorient."
Both explosives can deliver a devastating result, but which one gives its warrior the edge?
"There's no denying it results," Hope states to the camera, "The MX-90 Grenade was able to bypass the armor and its portability means that you don't need someone to step on it."
For explosives, the Mobile Infantry gets the edge with the MX-90 Grenade.
If a squad of Mobile Infantry and a squad of Brotherhood Outcasts faced off, who would come out on top?
For the Mobile Infantry, they're ready to secure their victory with a weapon used by many of the branches of the Federal Armed Service.
"Sometimes, we need something that is compact and will get the job done," Rico says to the camera before picking up a carbine and continuing, "This is where this comes in handy."
The Mortica Carbine: A shortened version of the Mortica MK I that can be used against foes in a closed environment.
Mortica Carbine
Length: 29.8 inches
Weight: 6.95 lb.
Range: 300 meters
Ammo: .308 Winchester
Rounds in Magazine: 30 bullets
Firing System: Gas-operated, rotating bolt
"This is the Mortica Carbine," Rico says while holding the weapon, "While lacking the shotgun of the normal rifle, it makes up for it with its smaller frame."
"So, bringing a carbine as a back up in case the rifle doesn't work?" Dexter asks.
"That's right, sir," Ace replies with a small chuckle.
However, the Brotherhood Outcasts are ready to counter with their own compact firearm.
"With this, those soldiers don't stand a chance," Rococo says while picking up a strange rifle from the table.
The AER9 Laser Rifle: One of the most used weapons of the Enclave and the Brotherhood of Steel that has survived the Great War.
AER9 Laser Rifle
Length: 32 inches
Weight: 5.7 lbs.
Range: 250 meters
Ammo: Microfusion Cell
Rounds in Magazine: 24 shots
Firing System: Unknown
"I'd like to introduce you to the AER9 Laser Rifle," Rococo tells the experts while holding the AER9 in her hands, "A sturdier and reliable model than those made before it."
"Okay, you have my interest," Marcus says, "I hope you guys won't mind doing a little test."
"We won't mind," Anne replies.
With a single ballistics foam torso, Marcus and Rococo will take aim with a single shot to compare the L-23 Blaster Pistol and AER9 Laser Rifle respective.
Outside the fight club, Marcus pulls his L-23 Blaster Pistol from a holster on his belt and lines it up with the foam torso. With a single pull of the trigger, the blaster bolt easily makes a beeline for the torso's head and leaves a burn mark on the forehead.
"Great shot," Hope says, receiving a nod from Marcus as he steps back and Rococo gets into the same spot.
Aiming the AER9 Laser Rifle, the outcast defender pulls the trigger and a green laser quickly strikes the chest of the foam torso. Once the shot leaves, a large burn mark can be seen on the center of the chest.
"Will that work for you?" Rococo asks as she turns to look at the other experts.
"Yep," Marcus replies, "Just curious about what it does."
While the Laser Rifle can produce more damage than a blaster pistol, the true test between the special weapons has been set up.
In front of the experts, two similar courses with two foam torsos with a few small walls and barrels along with a manikin wearing the armor of the opponent.
"Okay, so the basic is this," Marcus tells Rico and Rococo, "You have a similar course to take and need to take out the targets as fast as possible."
"Simple enough," Rococo says with confidence.
"Understood, sir," Rico replies.
"Alright," Marcus states, "Rico, you're up first."
With the test being timed, Rico would have to complete the course with a single magazine in as little time as possible.
Rico kneels behind a small wall before loading a full magazine into the weapon and getting himself ready for the test.
"Rico, are you ready!"
"Sir, yes, sir!"
"On three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
Getting up from the wall, Rico fires the first burst at the first foam target and quickly scores hits on the neck and chest. Quickly running to behind some barrels, Rico gets to said barrels and crouches behind them before aiming the carbine at the second foam torso. Pulling the trigger, another burst of ammo that scores a few bullets into the head. Taking aim at the final target, the lieutenant fires another burst of ammo at the helmet of the Power Armor.
While a bullet manages to break through the visor over the left eye, the other bullets fail to break through it. Getting from behind the barrels and quickly running up to the armored target, Rico stops behind a barrel about ten feet in front of it before quickly unloading the rest of the carbine. However, as the gun clicks empty, the only thing to show for the bullets are dents in the chest and helmet.
"Done!"
"Forty-five second!" Marcus says as he and the other experts walk to the course.
"Okay, so both of the first targets are dead," Hope says as she looks at the foam torsos, "The first one would have died from the neck wounds if you didn't hit the chest while the second was killed without much effort."
"Unfortunately, I don't think you had any luck with the armor," Dexter states while taking off the helmet and looking at the face, "Other than this shot that got through the eye, the armor is relatively undamaged."
"That means that we'll be more or less immune to your gun," Anne quickly surmises.
"At least we know that head shots would work," Ace smirkingly replies.
Now, Rococo is up to the plate with the Laser Rifle.
Rococo is kneeling behind a small wall while loading a Microfusion Cell into the AER9 and preparing himself for the tests.
"Rococo, are you ready?"
"Ready!"
"Okay, on three," Marcus counts down, "Two, one, go!"
Raising himself to take aim, Rococo fires the first shot and the green laser strikes the torso in the center of the chest. After another shot to just above the first one, he quickly runs for some barrels and gets behind them before aiming the rifle. Getting a bead on the second foam torso, Rococo quickly fires off another laser shot that strikes the target in the gut.
Firing another shot that strikes the center of the chest, he quickly gets from behind cover and calmly walks towards the armored manikin. Firing a shot off, the green laser strikes the center of the chest again before Rococo aims the rifle higher. With a single pull of the trigger, the shot strikes the head and takes it off as rest of the body falls and seemingly disintegrates.
"Done!"
"Twenty-seven seconds!" Marcus says as he and the others walk up to the course.
"Okay, first thing's first," Hope states before asking Rococo, "What exactly happened to your last target?"
"I got a critical hit on it," Rococo simply states, "A powerful enough shot from any laser weapon would instantly turn the target into ash."
"That sounds difficult to defend against," Dexter says as he picks up the M-3 Helmet, which seems to be the only thing that remain from the manikin.
"Well," Hope says almost in disbelief, "You got kill shots on the other two, so you took out all three."
Rico stays quiet for a few seconds before saying, "I've got to say, that was impressive."
"I bet it was," Anne replies with a smirk.
Both sides have shown the power behind their special weapons, but which warrior get the edge?
"I don't think it's worth discussing," Dexter says to Marcus and Hope, "The Power Armor held up better and that critical hit would be devastating."
"I'd have to agree," Hope replies, "The Laser Rifle simply has more going for it."
Marcus nods before saying, "Couldn't have said it better."
For special weapons, the edge goes to the Brotherhood Outcasts with the AER9 Laser Rifle.
The tests are complete and the data has been gathered into the computer system.
Coming up, the final battle begins. The Mobile Infantry or the Brotherhood Outcasts, who will be the Deadliest Warrior?
The Mobile Infantry and the Brotherhood Outcasts. Who will come out as the Deadliest Warrior?
For the Mobile Infantry, we test four weapons from their arsenal: the Mortica MK I Rifle, the Infantry Knife, the MX-90 Grenade, and the Mortica Carbine.
With the Brotherhood Outcasts, we tested four of their weapons: the R91 Rifle, the Ripper, the Frag Mine, and the AER9 Laser Rifle.
For long range, the Brotherhood Outcast's R91 Rifle was pitted against the Mobile Infantry's Mortica MK I Rifle.
"While the R91 Rifle is a bit more accurate," Dexter explains, "The Mortica Mark 1 has more options and can deliver more damaging wounds."
Edge: Mobile Infantry
For special weapons, the Brotherhood Outcast's AER9 Laser Rifle went up against the Mobile Infantry's Mortica Carbine.
"There's no comparison," Marcus comments, "The Laser Rifle simply blows the Mortica Carbine out of the water."
Edge: Brotherhood Outcasts
For close range, the Mobile Infantry's Infantry Knife got into a slugging match with the Brotherhood Outcast's Ripper.
"The ripper can carve up an opponent with simple ease," Hope states, "Plus the Power Armor provides more protection than the Combat Armor."
Edge: Brotherhood Outcasts
Finally, for explosives, the Mobile Infantry's MX-90 fought it out with the Brotherhood Outcast's Frag Mine.
"The Frag Mine requires someone to step on it to be usable," Marcus claims, "On the other hand, the MX-90 produces a bigger explosion and can be thrown at an opponent."
Edge: Mobile Infantry
The testing is complete. With the data in the computer, the final battle is ready to commence. To make sure that neither warrior wins by a single lucky blow, the simulation will be run a thousand times to see who is the Deadliest Warrior.
It's a battle of opposites...
Frontal assault...
(Twenty members of the Mobile Infantry charge at their arthropod enemies while firing their weapons to mow them down.)
Vs. Small skirmishes
(Eight members of the Brotherhood Outcasts are ambushed by a group of Raiders before they retaliate and quickly take a few out.)
Countering alien invaders...
(A member of the Mobile Infantry opens fire with his Mortica Carbine on a Warrior Bug before throwing a grenade that kills it.)
Vs. Fighting wasteland survivors
(A member of the Brotherhood Outcasts fires his R91 Rifle at a cannibal before another cannibal is sliced open by their Ripper.)
Dexter presses some keys on the keyboard and starts the battle simulations.
-Fight-Start-
In a rocky area of the wasteland, five people are making their way through it without much difficulty even with their armor. All of these men are wearing black and red T-45d Power Armor with their leader being an Asian man with black hair with an AER9 Laser Rifle in his hands and a Ripper on his belt.
Behind him is a lightly tanned man with brown hair that has a R91 Rifle in his hands while the third person, who is wearing the helmet, is also armed with a R91 Rifle in his hands. The fourth person is also wearing a helmet along with being armed with a R91 Rifle and a Ripper on his belt. The final person is an African-American man who is armed with an AER9 Laser Rifle.
These people, in order of appearance, are Henry Casdin, Rococo Rockfowl, Morrill, McGraw, and Sibley. They are the leader and members of the Brotherhood Outcasts, going through the rocky area towards an old outpost said to have pre-War technology.
Brotherhood Outcasts: 5
Nearby the rocky area, an old dirt trail leading towards the old outpost with another group of five moving along the trail. They're all wearing Combat Armor and M-3 Helmets, with the man leading them having a Mortica Mk I Rifle and an Infantry Knife on his belt. The second man, who is slightly older than their leader, is armed with a Mortica Carbine along with having an Infantry Knife and three MX-90 Grenades on his belt.
The third man, who seems just as old as the leader, is also armed with a Mortica Mk I Rifle and has an Infantry Knife on his belt. The next person is a woman with a Mortica Carbine along with having three MX-90 Grenades and an Infantry Knife on her belt. The final person is an African-American man with a Mortica Mk I Rifle that has a scope on it.
These people, in order of appearance, are Johnny Rico, Zim, Ace Levy, Dizzy Flores, and Sugar Watkins. They are soldiers of the Mobile Infantry sent to investigate the old outpost for a possible defense if the Bugs reach Earth.

Casdin signals to his men to stop as he sees the end of the rocks with the dirt road towards the outpost ahead of them.
Turning around, he tells them, "We're almost there. Let's keep moving."
"Yes, sir," McGraw replies as his leader turns around and he along with the other Outcasts start following him.
-Xx-
Looking around, Rico holds his hand up to halt his soldiers as he sights the rocky area nearby and, more importantly, the Brotherhood Outcasts.
"Everyone, move forward and get to cover," Rico tells his men before they quickly move to an area with a few boulders. They quickly get to the boulders and they into cover with Sugar taking aim using his scope.
As the Brotherhood Outcasts near the end of the rocky area, they are unaware of the Mobile Infantry as Dizzy takes a grenade off her belt just in case. With their foes unaware, Sugar gets a lock on with Rococo while Zim takes aim as well.
Just as both Casdin and Rococo are about to reach the dirt trail, both Sugar and Zim open fire with Rococo falling to the ground with a bullet to his head and Casdin being knocked down upon being hit.

Brotherhood Outcasts: 4
"Sibley, get Casdin up!" McGraw shouts as he quickly gets in front of his leader with Morrill getting alongside him. Both men quickly start opening fire with their R91 Rifles with the soldiers opening fire as well.
This causes the Mobile Infantry to get behind the boulders with Dizzy quickly getting the grenade back on her belt to use her rifle. Helping his leader to his feet, Sibley quickly takes a wild shot with his AER9 Laser Rifle and blasts a bit off of one of the rocks.
"Fall back!" Casdin tells his men, knowing that they need cover.
"You take point, sir," McGraw says, "We'll give you a head start."
Nodding, Casdin quickly makes his way back to into the rocky area with Morrill waiting a few seconds before taking off after him.
"They're retreating!" Zim tells his leader.
"Let's follow them and take them out!" Rico shouts as he quickly leaves cover and focuses fire on McGraw and Sibley.
"Come on!" McGraw says as he fires the last few rounds in his magazine and nearly hits Ace. However, Sibley gets a bead on Zim and shots him in the chest, sending him down with a single green laser.
Mobile Infantry: 4
Brotherhood Outcasts: 4
However, at that moment Rico fires a round off that grazes Sibley's head that causes him to fall to the ground dazed. McGraw, realizing that he's no use in his present location, runs back into the the rocky area as he loads a new magazine into his rifle.
Rico leads his remaining soldiers towards the entrance of the rocky area as Sibley starts to get to his elbows while still dazed. However, Ace quickly takes out his Infantry Knife and throws it, easily causing it to embed itself into the Outcast's head.
Mobile Infantry: 4
Brotherhood Outcasts: 3
Passing the fallen man, the Mobile Infantry enters the rocky area after the remaining members of the Brotherhood Outcasts. About fifty feet away from the Infantry, the Brotherhood Outcasts running towards two rocks that make a narrow passage between them.
"Sir, get into a firing position!" McGraw says as he gets behind a rock with Casdin hiding behind a rock behind his fellow soldier. Morrill, on the other hand, moves into cover between two boulders on the other side of the route they traveled.
"Let's keep moving, maggots!" Rico says as they approach the area as his fellow soldiers follow behind him. Just fifteen feet from the area, Casdin gets from behind cover and fires a green laser down range. The Mobile Infantry try to scatter upon seeing it, but Sugar isn't able to react fast enough and the laser blasts through his chest, sending his body to the ground.
Mobile Infantry: 3
Brotherhood Outcasts: 3
The Mobile Infantry get behind cover to avoid the incoming bullets, with Dizzy ending up behind the first boulder that Morrill is hiding behind. Said Outcast tries to focus fire on Rico, but his gun clicks empty and takes cover between the boulders.
Hearing him reloading his weapon, Dizzy takes a MX-90 Grenade off her belt and presses the button to cause the pin to fall off. Turning around, she throws it over the boulder and quickly books it from the boulder just as the weapon lands next to Morrill. Seeing the weapon, Morrill tries to turn and leave the space he's in.
BOOM!
Casdin and McGraw jump a bit from the fiery explosion before turning to look at their fellow Outcast now on the ground with flames covering his body and space between the boulders.

Brotherhood Outcasts: 2
"Shit, they have explosives!" McGraw says in shock from the sight.
"McGraw, I have a plan!" Casdin shouts to his last man, "Follow me and watch the path!"
"Yes, sir!" McGraw replies before opening fire with his rifle as his leader gets out from behind cover and books it to the narrow path between rocks. Not wasting any time, McGraw follows after him and sees him jump over a spot in the passage that he jumps over as well.
"Ace, get onto the rocks!" Rico says as he gives out orders, "Dizzy, fall in line behind me!"
"Yes, sir!" Both Ace and Dizzy reply without hesitation.
"Now, c'mon, you apes!" Rico tells them as he gets out from behind cover, "You wanna live forever?"
With that, the three Mobile Infantry let out a battle cry as they run towards the narrow passage with Ace moving faster. Getting on the rock on their left, Ace starts to aim his gun as the two Brotherhood Outcasts just as Rico goes through the passage. Dizzy is about to enter the passage just as Rico steps on the spot that the Outcasts jumped over.
BOOM!
Both Casdin and McGraw stop in their tracks and turn around to see Rico fall to the ground without his leg while both Dizzy and Ace fall back from the shock wave.
"Sibley was right," McGraw says in surprise, "That Frag Mine wasn't a waste."
"McGraw fire on them and find some cover," Casdin tells to his final follower, "I'll take cover and help ambush them."
"Yes, sir!" McGraw says before seeing his leader running to a seemingly curved rock while he gets to a rock nearby.
"Rico!" Dizzy exclaimed upon getting back up without a scratch while Ace jumps down after recovering. The two quickly reach their leader and turn him over, his body unmoving.
Mobile Infantry: 2
Brotherhood Outcasts: 2
McGraw opens fire on the last two soldiers who quickly respond in kind with anger fueling them to keep going. Dizzy fires a few shots from the shotgun attachment of her rifle that misses most of the time due to its spread. However, this still causes the Outcast to duck behind cover to hide from the amounts of bullets coming at him.
The Mobile Infantry presses their attack, with Dizzy focusing fire while Ace quickly runs towards the rock that McGraw is hiding behind. Stopping to let Ace get to the rock, Dizzy tries to calm herself before she runs to catch up while the Outcast moves to get out of cover.
Unfortunately for him, Ace fires a round of buckshot at his chest and knocks him down with a second shot from the shotgun hitting his chest as well. Seeing the visor, Ace quickly aims his weapon at it and fires a burst of bullets that break it and quickly get into McGraw's head.
Ace turns to crack a smile at Dizzy as she reaches him, but his fellow soldier cries out in horror upon a green laser hitting him in the neck and sends his head flying as both it and his body are vaporized.
Mobile Infantry: 1
Brotherhood Outcasts: 1
Turning towards Casdin, Dizzy opens fire with the last Brotherhood Outcast getting back behind cover just as her rifle clicks empty. Placing his Laser Rifle on the ground, Casdin takes the Ripper from his belt into his right hand as Dizzy throws her rifle away and takes another grenade from her belt.
Quickly arming it, she throws it behind the rock just as Casdin runs from behind it and uses his armor to help him slam into her. He quickly slams into the rock McGraw was hiding behind only a second before a fiery explosion erupts from behind the other rock that turns green from the Microfusion Cell being vaporized.
Dizzy punches the Brotherhood Outcast in the face, making him take a step back and give her enough space to reach for her Infantry Knife. However, she hears a chainsaw being started before Casdin brings the Ripper onto her arm. The soldier screams in pain as her forearm is sliced in two with blood spraying from the bloody stump.
Deciding to end this, Casdin quickly rotates the weapon in his hand before bringing it down onto Dizzy's chest. While the armor seemingly stops the teeth from going in, this lasts for only five seconds before the Combat Armor finally breaks. The Ripper quickly burrows into Dizzy's chest and makes her cough up blood before Casdin switches the weapon off and lets go of it.
Taking a step back, he takes in the sight of the soldier haven been impaled as she draws her last breath.
Mobile Infantry: 0
Brotherhood Outcasts: 1
Casdin gives his enemy a moment of silence before picking up his follower's R91 Rifle and reloading it while making his way back to the dirt path.
-Fight-End-
"Out of a thousand battles, the Brotherhood Outcasts won almost fifty-three percent of the time," Dexter states as he explains the results from the simulation, "This is due in large part to their armor being almost impossible to take out and the Mobile Infantry being used to fighting in an army."
Out of a thousand battles, the Brotherhood Outcasts managed to claim 529 kills with their AER9 Laser Rifle and Ripper being their best weapons.
Brotherhood Outcasts
R91 Rifle: 110
Ripper: 147
Frag Mine: 22
AER9 Laser Rifle: 250
All-in-all: 529
The Mobile Infantry weren't far behind with 471 kills, with the MX-90 Grenade and Mortica MK I Rifle being their best weapons.
Mobile Infantry
Mortica MK I Rifle: 125
Infantry Knife: 93
MX-90 Grenade: 144
Mortica Carbine: 109
All-in-all: 471
"I'm not surprised that the Brotherhood Outcasts won," Marcus says, "That armor is tougher than what the Mobile Infantry has and their AER9 Laser Rifle could do some serious damage."
"Even though the Mobile Infantry had the experience factor and drive," Hope adds, "The Brotherhood Outcasts have to survive in a wasteland where everything is trying to stay alive."
"You may think you won," Rico states, a hint of anger present on his face, "But I'm certain these tin cans won't survive against the entire Mobile Infantry."
"I have respect for the Mobile Infantry," Anne comments calmly, "But we have something to keep us going and we won't stop until it's done."
(Casdin and a few Brotherhood Outcasts are taking equipment from the old outpost before Casdin looks at the Mortica MK I Rifle he scavenged from the battlefield.)
