Shag, Marry or Kill
"What happened to Damon wasn't your fault, Bonnie. He did this. He brought it on to himself!"
"So why do I feel so guilty? I was his friend. I was supposed to help him get better. Not conjure the spell that would end his life."
"How the hell do you figure that? He's a hundred and seventy-year old vampire in a twenty-five year old's body! You just turned old enough to ditch your fake ID last month! How the hell are you his moral guide? It was his own damn fault that he stepped into the spell. You have nothing to feel guilty about!"
"I don't know why I feel responsible, Kai! I just know that I do!"
"So now… you marry Jeremy Gilbert? You throw away every chance at happiness because his sister is guilt-tripping you?"
"That's not true. I love Jeremy."
He scoffed.
"I do love him! I've loved him for a long time!"
"Do you love him like this?" And he grabbed her and pulled her flush against him. She gasped, her hands landing on his shoulders. For a moment, they just stood silently in each other's arms, their breaths mingling, their chests heaving in rhythm.
"Kai," she breathed and tipped her chin up.
His lips met hers and his kiss was everything she feared it would be. Like a match that lit her from inside out, setting every sense of hers on fire. Like the way no one had ever kissed her before – and would probably ever kiss her again.
Unforgettable.
Five minutes later and he was pressing her against the wall, and she was ripping his shirt off his back.
"I've wanted this for so long," he breathed into her skin as he peeled her leggings off her.
The first time around was fast, both of them too eager, too impatient for any finesse and he took her there and then against the wall. The second time around was on his bed, slow, sweet, and heartbreakingly painful.
The third time around, he told her he loved her and he begged her to say the same. She answered with her hands, her lips and everything except her words.
The next morning, he watched her dress silently. Neither of them said anything. There was nothing that had not already been said.
She stopped at the door, her hand clenched over the handle. He watched from the bed, his heart pounding as he waited with bated breath for her moment of hesitation to pass.
It did. She opened the door, and walked out of his life.
She didn't look back.
A few hours later, Bonnie Bennett got married to Jeremy Gilbert.
That night, Kai Parker got on a plane to Portland, Oregon.
They never saw each other again.
Author's Note: In case it wasn't obvious… Kat's answers were:

Marry Jeremy
Kill Damon (with love)
