I though you all might enjoy this little bugger.
It's a bit sad though. Try it on for size.
Mary looked down from the cloud she was sitting on. Bert was alone again. He seemed to be looking right at her, sadly of course. She breathed a small sigh of despair and desire combined and decieded she would pay him a visit.
"Hello," she said stepping primly down onto the rooftops. His eyes lit up. "Do you mind if I sit down?"
"No," he said simply. She took the seat next to him. They sat quietly for a few minutes, both reluctant to break the comfortable silence between them. Finally Bert's hand came down over hers. "You seem nervous."
"Indeed. I almost didn't come down tonight."
"Why not?"
"Bert, you know my reasons are my own and I never explain anything." He touched her face and their eyes locked.
"Try."
"Oh Bert I-" Instead of finishing her sentence she kissed him sweetly. "How can you explain that?" she asked quietly.
"I see," he whispered against her mouth. How sweet she tasted, like raspberry jam cakes or peppermints. "I thought we were going to pretend this feeling did not exist. I thought we agreed that after that one night it would never happen again."
"Perhaps we did, but I didn't mean it. Did you?" She took of her hat and gloves and sat them to the side. He shook his head.
"So I get to you?"
"Of course you do. You always have. But this is bad for me, for us both." She kissed him again.
"Then why are you 'ere?" Bert asked quietly.
"Because tonight I need you. I need your arms, your kiss, and your warmth. Tonight I need to be more than just a magical nanny. I need to be your wife," she whispered taking down her hair. It fell in loose waves about her sholders.
"And tomorrow?"
'Tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow what 'appens? You'll leave again won't you? My 'eart will break to see you go just as yours will break to leave. We both know the reasons this cannot 'appen."
"Yes, we do." She kissed him once more and he relented.
"I don't want to break your 'eart again. Tell me that won't 'appen."
"You know I can't, just as you cannot promise me that yours will be whole again when I am forced to leave. Bert please, I know you need this just as much as I do. I've missed you so." She paused and began to unbutton his shirt. " I know loving you should be the last thing on my mind, but it feels so good to let you hurt me just one more time. Come and drive me crazy like you did that night so long ago. Bert, please, break my heart again."
Well? Sad no? Read and review.
