Sue Carson had never been one to stand out in a crowd. She was quiet and simple, sweet but shy. She had difficulty connecting with her peers and she absolutely dreaded starting her first day at Mystic Falls High School. But her father had gotten a job transfer from the neighboring city of Fells Church and now here she was, along with her father, her mother, and her older brother Doug. Sue hoped that she would make a friend, just one friend. Then she'd be all right.
Sue hurried up the stairs to the entrance of her new school. Mystic falls was not much different than Fells Church, she realized with some relief. Both were quiet, small, close knit Virginian towns. Maybe her family and she would be okay here after all. After retrieving her schedule from the main office, sue walked down the long hallway that lead to her history class, the student guide she had been assigned at her side. "You're going to love it here Sue, I'm Bonnie by the way," The guide, whom Sue now knew as Bonnie, said cheerfully. Sue looked up at Bonnie. The girl was beautiful, she had to admit. With her long dark hair and coffee colored skin, Bonnie was sure to stand out. "I hope so, thank you for showing me around," Sue told Bonnie softly. Bonnie smiled, "It's no problem really," she answered sincerely, and then added, "We're here. Come on, let's go inside."
Sue began to feel anxious as she saw that everyone in the classroom was staring at her, she unconsciously moved closer to Bonnie. Then a young man, the teacher she assumed, smiled at her. "Hi you must be Sue, come on in and take a seat wherever you like. I'm Alaric Saltzman, the history teacher," he told sue in a friendly tone. Sue nodded slowly, "Thank you Mr. Saltzman," she said, speaking politely while beginning to search for a seat. There were only two seats open, both near a girl with long chocolate colored hair and olive skin. Bonnie smiled at Sue and gestured for her to take the other seat which was next to the girl as she herself took the one behind. "Hi Sue, I'm Elena Gilbert," the girl said to Sue nicely. Sue smiled; it was beginning to look like she'd made not one, but maybe two friends today. It made her happy. Things would be different in Mystic Falls, better. She could feel it.
*Author's note*- Hi guys, I know it's been a while since I've wrote anything and I missed it…this plot was not requested, it just popped into my head this evening and I decided to write it :) I think it's a different kind of plot, perhaps refreshing to avid fanfic readers who were itching for something new. This plot is kind of a nod to the original TVD series because it features Sue Carson (along with Elena, Bonnie, Alaric, and later Stefan and Damon) who was a friend of Elena's in the series. I always liked her character and thought more could have been done with it.. Please review (really guys this one is super important that you do review) because I know this plot is pretty far out and I need to know how an audience receives it!
