Rita Skeeter's Scoop

Severus looked up from his reading. Rita was staring at him again. She always did when he proofread her work.

"Any good?" she asked. He shook his head.

"You should start doing the work to write the article yourself. There are many errors, both grammatical and spelling. It is fixable," Severus replied.

"But you'll help me, Sevie?" she asked. A smirk covered his lips.

"Of course, Pookie," he grinned. Rita squealed and kissed him. Suddenly a knock sounded at the door. Severus disappeared, turning himself into a serpent and burrowing into the base of a plant. The visitor was Dumbledore.

"Madam, have you seen Professor Snape? He has missed an appointment with me and someone saw him with you."

"I have no idea, professor. Do you want me to help you find him?"

"That will not be necessary. Thank you, though," Dumbledore replied. Rita nodded and watched him walk away. She closed the door to see Snape standing in his robes again.

"Leaving already?" she asked.

"You've gathered enough information for your article. I have to get to my next class. Come visit me tonight, all right?"

"I'm leaving in an hour," she sighed. "Sevie…"

"I'll visit you then. Goodbye, Pookie."

"Bye, Sevie…"

Severus departed, leaving his latest love alone in her empty room. He sighed. She was the third one this week he had left behind. He felt no remorse.
