Amy Williams-Pond.

"Which one is better?" Rory Williams, aged 21, mused allowed, after writing down all versions of his fiancé's name on a scrap piece of paper after they got married in a week's time.

After sometime and ages (3 minutes) of thinking, he stood triumphantly, and went to go and find his wife-to-be.

He jogged to Amy's house and knocked upon the blue door, waiting for her to answer.

The girl of Rory's dreams opens the door, "Hey!" She says happily, pleased to see him.

He beams, just because of her face, her voice, the way her Scottish accent still comes through after many years in Leadworth, "Hey! Listen, can we talk?"

"Sure." She replies, and leads him into her garden, where they sit on the garden swing.

"You know, in a week's time we'll be married. I can't wait! So, I was thinking, and I just thought what you would want to do with... would you rather... would you be willing to... here." Rory says and gives her the sheet of paper he wrote her surnames on.

"Rory... I..." Amy stammers. "I don't know what to say."

"I'm giving you a choice, Amy... you can keep your name, or change your name to mine, or we could do a hyphen. You know, Amy Pond-Williams. I like to think that that's a good one." Rory states, nervously.

"Yeah, it's just I'd like to keep my own surname, Rory. To keep the Pond generation alive for as long as possible. Hey! We could even name our children Ponds." She giggles, excitedly, and bumps Rory's shoulder, with a huge smile plastered on her face.

"Yeah, sure, whatever you decide." Amy laughs again and fails to notice that Rory has sighed and has slumped his shoulders down, in sadness, looking down at the ground, and when he looks up again he sees her happiest he's ever seen her.

I just wanted her to keep my surname, is that too much to ask? Just wanted her to be a Williams, with me. I even compromised on a hyphen. The hyphen works, doesn't it? Even her name first. Amy Pond-Williams. Rory Pond-Williams. I think it has a ring to it. But then I think Amy, and what she wants. Amy Pond and Rory Pond.

"Do you want me to change my name to Rory Pond?" I ask, jokingly.

She thinks for a moment. "Um... No. You're a Williams. You deserve to be a Williams forever."

"Good. You deserve to be a Pond forever, too."

"I probably won't be a Pond forever," She laughs, mesmerising Rory in the process, "Just for now."

"I don't care what my surname is, just as long I can keep you happy. I'd wait 2,000 years for you, if it meant I could be with you for a minute."

"I love you, forever and-"Amy starts.

"And Always." Rory finishes.
