December 23, 0012:
They failed the mission.
It was a complete and utter failure.
Reno's guts churned when the little bits of information fleshed out, knowing that the investigation was going to waste their time and effort; However, Tseng refused to leave until the Turks, or whatever was left of them, thoroughly searched the area for any additional clues. It was there…it was everywhere but the leader stayed firm and had them stay, refusing to hear what Reno had to say.
"It's there! It's heading towards there! It's probably already there! FUCK! Everyone is going to die if we do not haul ass over there, yo! Tseng, honestly, this is not the time to fuckin' blow wind out of our asses! We can see if Cloud and his damn group can help us on this! It's better than nothing!"
Her. What about her? The scruffy Turk slammed a palm to his chest, grabbing onto his unbuttoned shirt to claw at his flesh, wishing to rip out the heavy pain that was booming within. He was going to lose her if they didn't act fast.
Slick black tresses swayed around stiff elbows, as the leader gave a languid incline of his head; while dark eyes surveyed the scene with silence that handed Reno that ominous flare. "Reno, I've already sent Elena and Rude. They should be there within the next half hour."
IDIOT! HE DIDN'T SEND ME ON PURPOSE! He wouldn't send me that fuckin' asshole! I HATE YOU! I FUCKIN' HATE YOU! You knew that if you sent me, my emotional side would take over once I went to see her! Why? I know this is a job of mine, but we blew the mission! We didn't take care of it fast enough! The HELL…GOD DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!
The redhead tightened his jaws and clenched his fists, kicking away his EMR due to the pounding frustration that sank into the back of his skull…refusing to leave. "Dammit! DAMMIT IT ALL TO HELL! I thought we were good! I thought the Planet was good! And it's not? WHY NOT?"
Tseng's dark gaze trailed to the edge of the water where Aeris' remains were laid to rest, watching the water swish and ripple without anything causing the wake, "…Because we're too late."
"That's not how it's supposed to be!"
A steady hand sank into the cool, dark water, bringing up only to see that it left a heavy stain upon his flesh. Not even a fraction of a frown could tell Reno what the hell Tseng was thinking about. A cloth appeared and the meticulous leader gave a wipe to his tainted hand, watching the unknown fluid stick and cling.
"We were too late, yo. TOO LATE! Do you hear me?" Acting in such a manner to his superior would cost Reno his entire livelihood, but knowing that his most cherished person was going to die because of their "carelessness" was definitely taking the top of the line here. "Are you listening to me?"
Of course not!
Cloud was chasing that long braided girl's ghost.
Tseng, too, after the same girl.
Not Reno.
He wasn't going to chase after some dead girl as if he was some hyped-ass necrophilliac.
NO. I REFUSE FOR IT TO HAPPEN!
ABSOLUTELY-
BALATANTLY-
FUCKIN'-
REFUSE!
The thicker end of his EMR was seized, sending forth the image of that flame-haired young man, darting after his helicopter to save the girl and her tender smile from Hell's devilish wrath.
Gonna die tryin'!
Author's Note: I am reediting the next two chapters to go smoothly with this new addition. I wasn't happy with the first work I kicked out, so bear with me here. Do note that the next two chapters will be from the past, and yeah…there's a reason why.
Oh, and I don't own Final Fantasy VII xD! Dur.
