In the home of the Flavershams, everyone was dressed up as Indians, except for Jewel. Olivia put the pilgrim hat on Jewel's head.

"Perfect for Thanksgiving," Olivia said.

"Thanks, Olivia," Jewel replied. Then confusion washed over her. "What's Thanksgiving?"

"It's a holiday about giving thanks, and the pilgrims befriending the Indians, and sharing," Olivia answered, patting Jewel's head. "So what are you thankful for, Jewel?"

"What am I thankful for?" Jewel repeated. "Well, I'm thankful that you and Fidget gave me kindness."

"I'm thankful for Olivia giving me the respect I deserve," said Fidget.

Jewel nuzzled Olivia and Fidget.

Mr. Flaversham was awed by the sight. "Ready?"

"Yes, father!" Olivia, Fidget, and Jewel replied and walked out of Olivia's room. Jewel grabbed her basket of Lugia berries. Olivia covered it with a cloth. Fidget took a tiny peek. Jewel slapped his hand with her tail.

"No peeking, Fidget!" Olivia and Jewel scolded.

"Sorry," Fidget apologized.

"That's okay," said Jewel.

"You must be hungry, aren't you?" Olivia assumed.

Fidget's stomach growled. "Yep." Olivia had been right.

"But you have to wait until we get to Basil's, Fidget," a familiar sisterly voice said. It was Stella, packing her applesauce in her basket. "It's alright, buddy," she said, walking over to him and rubbing his chin, "I'm hungry, too, but we'll have to wait."

Just then, they heard a knock on the door. Jewel went to open it with her hand. Behind the door was Eve with her little brother, Flappy and their friend, Andrew, who were dressed as pilgrims.

"Eve! Flappy!" Fidget beamed and went to hug his girlfriend and young friend.

"Happy Thanksgiving, Fidget!" Flappy said.

"Happy Thanksgiving, guys!" Fidget replied.

"Happy Thanksgiving to my best boyfriend," Eve stated proudly.

"Andrew!" Olivia shouted, just as excited as Fidget was when Eve and Flappy arrived at the door.

"Olivia!" Andrew yelled as he ran into her arms for a hug. Stella bent down to the two little mice's level and rubbed Andrew's head. Andrew looked up to see Stella. "Stella, I almost forgot about you. Happy Thanksgiving."

Stella giggled. "But I haven't forgotten about you, Andrew and Happy Thanksgiving."

"Happy Thanksgiving," Olivia said.

"Fidget, are you ready to go to Basil's?" Eve asked her boyfriend.

"I was born ready," Fidget chuckled, then suggested, "How about a race?"

"Sure," Eve replied and here was how it all went: Flaversham rode on Fidget, Olivia rode on Eve, Andrew rode on Flappy, and Stella rode on Jewel. Jewel, out of all of them was the fastest. She soared so fast she nearly knocked Fidget over. Luckily, Mr. Flaversham held on for dear life.

"Watch where you're going, you reckless jerk!" Fidget snapped and to Stella, "And you, too, punk!"

"Fidget, that's no way to talk to Jewel!" Eve admonished.

"You can be a showoff sometimes, too, Fidget," Mr. Flaversham reprimanded. He was lucky he hadn't lost his head. He knew that Jewel and his other daughter wouldn't try to kill anyone; at least not on purpose.

"And don't speak to my sister like that, either!" Olivia added. "She and Jewel were just playing!"

Fidget sighed in shame. "Stella! Jewel! Wait, I'm sorry!" he called, but they were already on their way to Basil's, feeling angry and hurt. Some Thanksgiving! Fidget didn't mean what he said; he let his emotions get the best of him when Stella and Jewel were having fun. Soon after Jewel and Stella won the race, Stella knocked the door and smiled as Mrs. Judson came into view because she was a sweet old woman, who had been kind to her like she was to her little sister.

"Hello, dear," Mrs. Judson greeted warmly.

"Hello, Mrs. Judson," Stella greeted back. "Happy Thanksgiving."

"Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, child."

"And you, too," Jewel said, taking off her hat and bowing respectfully to the housekeeper.

Just as Jewel had done so, three bats and three mouse riders landed on solid ground, safely.

"Stella. Jewel. I'm really sorry," Fidget apologized. "I realize now that you girls were having fun."

"That's alright, Fidget," Stella said, hugging the bat.

Jewel nuzzled him.

As soon as Fidget was forgiven for his insults, they stepped in the house and were all welcomed with a "Surprise!" It was Eve's Andrew's, and Fidget's parents, and Basil and Dawson, who were dressed as Indians. They were all gathered at the table. Fidget and the other visitors decided to join them. As they feasted, they talked about what they were thankful for. Eve's parents were thankful for their son and daughter. Fidget's parents were thankful for their son, Fidget. Stella was thankful for her younger sister, Olivia, her father – their father, her foster brother – their foster brother, Fidget, and her pet – their pet Lugia dragon, Jewel. Fidget was thankful for his parents, Olivia, Stella, Jewel, Olivia's father, Eve, Flappy, Andrew, and most of all: Freedom and friendship. Olivia, same thing as Fidget.

Jewel handed out her Lugia berries. Eve passed out her cranberry sauce. Stella served her applesauce onto each plate. Everyone enjoyed the treats.

After a while, Fidget, Eve, Flappy, Stella, Andrew, and Olivia slept next to Jewel until Jewel's son, Lettuce arrived.

"Hi, Mommy!" Lettuce shouted.

"Son!" Jewel said ash she nuzzled her son.

"Happy Thanksgiving, Mommy!"

"Happy Thanksgiving, Lettuce!"

"I celebrated Thanksgiving by spending the day with Uncle Lugia and Shade. They're dressed like Indians like me. I invited them over."

"Aww," everyone said, awestruck. Eve, Fidget, and the others pet Jewel's son and Lugia and Shade joined them. Everyone went to their rooms to change into different clothes. Those who were Indians changed into pilgrim clothes and those who were pilgrims changed into Indians. Eve and Stella had their hair in braids. As soon as they changed their clothes, they danced and what a Thanksgiving it was!

The End

AN: Happy Thanksgiving!
