I don't own The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

She let him run around. She held her ground. She would only be with him in an exclusive relationship and now he was ready. RickyAmy

The day of her birthday he forgot all about it, instead he spent an hour and a half with a girl who could care less about him or being in a relationship with him, she just wanted to get laid and he wasn't one to judge or say no.

That was freedom.

Two weeks later he was up to the same things with two different girls. Just as he hung up with Amy he spotted a third girl who he just had to have. With a smirk on his lips and a happy swagger in his walk he approached the girl and won her over, hook, line and sinker.

That was adventure.

A month later Ricky was smiling and laughing with Amy about John's funny running and he started thinking about that weekend in New York. They had hit it off and connected in a way he loved more than sex. He had been able to be honest without underlying jealousy and negativity that he usually got from other girls.

"What are you looking at?" Amy asked as Ricky stared into her eyes.

"Nothing," they continued to joke with each other and play with their son. Ricky stared at her once again while she wasn't paying attention.

He had respect for Amy. She stood her ground and had grown up, though like him she had her own childish moments. She was a good mother to his son. He was still surprised she had set the boundary for the only way they could be together. Ricky now wondered if she would still feel the same if she knew he was still sleeping around. He wondered if Amy would do the thing girls normally do and get all upset even though he had made no promises to stop or anything like that.

One of the girls he had hooked up with the other day texted a naughty message on his phone. He smiled as he read it.

"Is that one of your girls?"

"What's it to you?" Ricky asked, automatically getting defensive and already having an excuse on his tongue to leave. He was fully prepared for her meltdown.

Instead, he was surprised once again when Amy smiled at him, "Have fun. And don't worry I'll put John to bed."

Ricky tilted his head at her, "You don't mind that I'm still sleeping around?"

"No…well it bothers me a little bit, but that's the way you are. Besides, it's not like we decided to be together or anything, so like I said, go have fun. Oh, but be careful." Amy rambled.

"I'm always careful. And I'm not leaving until I put John to bed. That girl doesn't matter." Ricky said, feeling a little nervous about mentioning anything that he may or may not feel about Amy and instead using John as an excuse to stay and prove Amy wrong that he would leave just to have a little fun.

She smiled at him and he couldn't help but smile back. "I'm glad you're staying, so… what's your favorite dessert?"

Ricky, glad that Amy started the question game back up that they had started in New York, answered her. Everything else seemed to melt away and he was left with a happy feeling inside his chest.

That was love.

Reviews are appreciated.

This is another oneshot that the recent episodes inspired in me. Both of them are pretty short, but I hope you found them entertaining. Ciao.
