This will be a story wherein Severus Snape is not an irredeemable bully and bastard. Instead, he has a soft spot for hidden talent and unseen potential. He takes outcasts under his wing, and nurtures the potential he sees within them so that they can be better than he.

Luna Lovegood is the same oddball with otherworldly ideas and staunch loyalty to those who treat her with kindness. But I have always believed that those qualities are tempered and balanced within her by her quiet brilliance and stunning clarity of mind.

As far as I know there is not another story like this out there. I would be absolutely delighted to hear any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions you may have to offer regarding this particular story premise. I make no promises that all or any of them will be used.
