Rain drizzled down upon the city of Trost. To Heidi Schmidtt, it would have been relaxing, but with the titans which roamed the town, it was impossible. She gazed blankly down at a titan who had just consumed one of Heidi's closest friends, Lucas. She wanted to break down and sob out loud, but Heidi knew she had to be strong. Beside her stood Milo Betz, her comrade, a man whom she had trained alongside. His silky blonde hair was drentched in the downpour.
The rose Garrison emblem from his jacket stood out from it's vibrant red color against the dull browns and greys. Around Heidi and Milo were the rest of their squadron, consisting of, Jarvis Schaub, Delia Hager, Derek Paur, and Axel Osten. All strong, experienced Garrison soldiers.
"Alright, we've done enough standing around, we have a job to do!" Milo shouted and the others nodded in agreement. In what felt like a heartbeat, they were off, Heidi swung down towards the titan whom had eaten Lucas and after a few moments of analyzation, she sliced the titan's nape. The titan colapsed onto the stone ground, it didn't stirr. Steam began to slowly rise from the titan and Heidi left. Now back into her group, they raced through Trost, bounding across rooftops and swung by the buildings. With a shout, Milo was snatched by a large hand.
"Milo!" Heidi shouted, her voice cracked with despair. She swiftly swung down to the titan and swung her blades at the nape, her blades missed the spot completley and she was flung to the ground. In her fall, she felt a few of her ribs snap. Upon looking up, she saw that Milo had been rescued from the titan. A dark shadow loomed above her, upon looking at the shape, she knew what it was. This was it Heidi thought, her body violently shook and tears dripped down her face.
She felt a hand grab her by the waist and the pain made her scream out. No one came. She screamed once more. No one came. Memories flooded through her mind. Her husband whom had died years before, her daughter whom was training in the military at that moment, and all her comrades and friends. She closed her eyes right before the pain and smiled.
