Hey guys! This is a short preview of my continuation of The Bartemaeus Trilogy. This "book" will shine a little more light on the relationship between Nathaniel and Kitty. It will also reveal secrets about the other place, and introduce a new djinn named "Naila" (which I might change) as main character.

The preview will be from a later chapter of the story; it maybe changed a bit in the future. i just want to know your opinion on it. Have fun! :)

Quick Preview of "The Bartemaeus Trilogy: The Light of Alterisk"

…As Kitty and Naila incanted the spell, a light grey smoke began to rise from the items. It began to slowly twirl around Bartemaeus' form, lifting him above the ground. On the last word, Bartemaeus opened his mouth and the mist rushed rapidly into his body. A bright light shone through his eyes and mouth, and cracks that began to form throughout his body. Kitty's eyes widened, her jaw dropped, as well as the scroll in her hand. It was a frightful sight wrapped with a notion of peacefulness –despite the slight similarities; it was nothing like what had happened to Mr. Makepeace. Kitty noticed that the cracks were getting larger and pieces of the skin began to fall off. Soon the whole body was nothing but a light in the figure of a human being. Kitty turned to Naila with bulging eyes and flared nostrils, "WHAT'S GOING ON?"

Naila watched the event with a calm, expressionless face. "Don't worry Kitty; Bartemaeus' form is just becoming human, that's all."
"Why?"
"I'll explain later, I'm sure Nathaniel will have questions of his own as well."

Suddenly, the light died down. The body slowly descended to the ground and lay down on th pentacle. Kitty heard a faint groan; her eyes brightened and a sudden rush of emotions filled her chest. "Nathaniel!" She ran to his side, "Nathaniel, wake up!" The boy's eyes began to open them halfway. Kitty eagerly came closer to his face. The boy squinted; a dry mouth opened ever so slightly, "K-Kitty? Wh-" The eyes suddenly widened, "What's going on kitty? Where am I? Wasn't I-" Nathaniel's body began to float in midair. Bartemaeus' low voice belched out Nathaniel's mouth.

"Welcome back buddy! How was hell?" The boy's lips smiled mockingly, ironically, to himself.
His expression quickly switched to puzzled look, "Bartemaeus? You're still in my body? But I thought I-"
"Died? Yes, you did. But I'm not in YOUR body; Quite the contrary really."
"But how-?"
"Easy, I simply changed into your form. It was easy to add all the useless human body necessities because sadly, I was once a part of you. But I'm quite proud of my work really, I added every single detail…" Bartemaeus curled his lips turned the boy's head to kitty. He gave a seductive glare and bit his bottom lip, "EVERY single detail." Kitty's face was flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment, "Enough With your nonsense!"
Bartemaeus continued, "What? I was making this ugly delivery out to you. If I'm going to deliver, I've got to deliver the WHOLE parcel don't – Wait…" Bartemaeus paused. "Nathaniel your being awfully quiet…"
