Worlds spin further apart within The Widening Gyre

Two beloved sons lost, for each a solitary funeral Pyre

Exit strategies are planned while fear and sorrow are tamed

Lies and deceit hidden within a Heart for Falsehood Framed

I watch the flames consume the dead, their duty done

Knowing the magog continue to kill, as pitiless as the sun

The Last call at the Broken Hammer is called

But can the inevitable slaughter ever be stalled?

Our fears show how all too human we will always be

Victory is uncertain but I know what we poor souls will see

In the heat of the fight "Una Salus Victus" is our battle cry

As the enemy advance, we must hold our resolve or we'll die

Home Fires welcome us but we each return with a heavy heart.

Tending the wounded, I shed a single tear for those who now depart

Finally they head into the Labyrinth, it's dark paths they must tread

On their way to eternal rest within the Halls of the Dead

I was free once, until the day I swore allegiance to the Prince.

And even through the death and destruction I've seen since,

I remain a loyal soldier. On order I will fight and kill

Striking down the vicious enemy on Bunker Hill

On our bannerĀ  is the Ouroboros, a snake biting it's own tail

A symbol of the total destruction we risk if we fail.

Lava and rockets surround us as we continue to fight

"Be all my Sins remembered" I pray silently to the night

A fatal wound pulls my love from me and I beg him to stay

The dance of the Mayflies marks his passing as slips away

In my arms my lover dies and I know In Heaven now are three

My husband and sons gone, what is left now in this life for me?

I know these are the things we cannot change but my faith is lost

I continue to fight, but I know now victory has too high a cost

Hell exists within this place, the deadly Belly of the Beast

Hatred consumes me as our dead become no more than a Magog Feast

The attack comes and with it a fatal blow but I feel no pain as I hit the ground

I know death is near as the Knight, death and the Devil all gather around

With Immaculate perception I finally understand, as darkness clouds my sight

And with my last breath gone, I step into the tunnel at the end of the light
