I wrote this as part of a challenge for sorakh28 some 6 years ago. And I decided to post it, since Sain/Priscilla needs lots more love on this site.
"So now I can't even leave the tent?" Sain scowled. Priscilla couldn't help stopping to listen; Sain had taken quite a beating in the last battle and quite predictably, Kent was not letting him hear the end of it.
"Not in that condition," she heard Kent say.
"Why does everyone have to treat me like an invalid?" Sain moaned. "I just hurt my leg!"
"Sain, you broke it in two places!" Kent argued. "Besides, it wasn't my idea. I was given strict orders, as your partner, not to let you out your own until your leg heals."
"Whose orders were those?" Sain asked.
"I can't say." Priscilla, standing outside, felt her stomach tighten.
He's miserable...and it's all my fault. I thought I was doing a good thing, she thought. I guess I should just tell him this was my doing...and hope he doesn't get angry. She nudged at the door of the tent.
"Excuse me...Sir Kent, may I please speak to Sain alone?" she asked quietly.
"Of course." Kent stood up and began to leave. "Sain..."
"I'm sorry, Kent. I didn't mean to explode like that..." Sain said.
"Don't worry about it for now," Kent said, and quietly left the tent. Sain looked at Priscilla and forced a smile.
"Ah, Princess."
"Sain...there is something I need to tell you," Priscilla said.
"Yes?"
She sighed.
"I was the one who asked that you not be allowed to move about," she confessed. Sain's jaw dropped.
"...You?"
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know it'd drive you this crazy," Priscilla said. Sain sighed, running a hand through his unkempt hair.
"Why did you do it?" he asked. "Why would you of all people go this far over my leg being broken?"
"To be honest...I was scared," Priscilla said. "Sain, I just..." She closed her eyes. "I just care about you so much, and seeing how terrible your injury was...I was afraid it'd get worse unless you remained in bed. I'm sorry..."
Sain's cheeks turned pink.
"...Princess...you really care about me that much?" he asked. Priscilla blinked.
"You're not angry?" she asked.
"Well, you shouldn't have been so extreme, but knowing you care about me this much is a good feeling," Sain said.
"Really?"
"Of course!"
"...May I sit down?" Priscilla asked. Sain nodded, moving over to make room for her. Priscilla sat down and laid her hand against his.
"So you really forgive me?" she asked. Sain leaned in close to her and smiled, a real smile this time. Her hair smelled faintly of vanilla flowers, he noticed.
"Almost," he said. Priscilla blinked. Then, in a sudden unexplainable move of boldness, she leaned in and kissed him. Sain's eyes widened, but he eagerly kissed back, idly wondering if he was dreaming.
Priscilla pulled back and smiled.
"How about now?" she asked.
Sain was silent for a moment, as if savoring the lingering taste of her lips on his own.
"If I said no, would you kiss me again?" he asked. Priscilla giggled.
"I choose to take that as a yes," she said, leaning her head against his shoulder. Sain wrapped his arm around her, deciding that his need to get up and walk around could wait till he was better.
