There's something out there. Something that's always been there.
It started more than 10 years ago. Back in 2009, U.S. Navy sonar detected strange readings in the Atlantic Ocean. When a ship was sent to investigate, it came under attack. It happened so quickly.
The crewmen reported seeing something erupt from the ocean depths, too fast to be tracked by the naked eye. They said they remembered seeing black skin on the creature. More creatures surfaced and immediately assaulted the vessel, covering the deck in burning debris, claw marks and dead bodies. AA guns downed three of them and a quarter of the crew was killed.
But that's not the strangest part. The creatures, based on survivor reports, were winged, scaly and blasted fireballs from their mouths. Now all we need to do is to find out what these things are, and why they came here.
In 2010, people in East Coast cities like New York and Boston reported seeing strange winged things in the night sky. Then there were more sightings. People woke up to crashing noises in the middle of the night, only to find the source gone. Blue spines were found lodged into trees and sheds. Black scales happened to be at a murder scene. There was even a small pool of lava near a cliff. These were not your everyday animals.
Humanity's goal was clear. We needed to find out what these things were, what they wanted from us, how long they've been down there in the sea, and most importantly, if they were a threat to our species. I only know one thing: they are.
Now, the monsters see us as an obstacle in their path. Our only hope now is to drive them back to the sea from whence they came. But we can't underestimate these beasts. They may be more than what we think they areā¦
