Will woke up to a bundle of big brown eyes and strawberry blonde curls tearing covers off of him.
"Soph, what are you doing up so early?" Will asked his daughter, his voice groggy from sleep, "It's only 6 in the morning"
"Daddy it snoooowed!" She squealed, which woke up her mother.
"Mommy, it snowed last night when I was asleep" Sophie said very 'matter-of-factly'
"Really, sweetie?" Emma replied, sounding genuinely interested.
Emma had always been more of a morning person than Will.
"Yeah, and daddy said he would play in it with me in five minutes!" Sophie said excitedly.
"He did, did he?" Emma asked, glancing at her husband, who had covered himself back up.
"Daddy did not say that Sophie." Will countered playfully, "I'll play with you in the snow later today. Okay, pumpkin?"
"Please play now, daddy. Pleeease?" Sophie said as she crawled up to her dad and cuddled up to him, trying to convince him to play.
Emma giggled and picked up little Sophie from behind.
"C'mon Soph, leave daddy alone. He's still tired." Emma said as she carried Sophie out of the room, "We'll go make breakfast and maybe he'll play with you then, huh?"
"Okay, mommy" Sophie huffed.
Sophie was almost 4 years old and barely weighed anything. The doctor had said that she was perfectly healthy, and that she was just petite, like her mother. She ate just as much, if not more, than other kids her age, but she had trouble keeping on weight. Her favorite food was chocolate chip pancakes. Emma knew that's what she'd want to cook, but she always humored little Sophie by asking her.
"What should we cook for daddy this morning, Soph?"
"Chocolate chip pancakes!" squealed Sophie with excitement.
They continued cooking until Will finally came downstairs.
"Well, would you look at that! The handsome beast himself has awoken!" Emma teased him.
Will smiled and walked over to the steaming plate of lopsided pancakes and kissed Emma, then reached down and picked up Sophie.
"Did you cook all this, little girl?" Will asked.
"Daddy, I'm not that little." Offended Sophie said.
"Oh that's right" Will teased as he set Sophie down at the table, "I forgot how big you were! You might even be big enough to play in the snow all by yourself!"
"NO!" Sophie squealed, though she knew her dad was joking with her.
"I'm just kidding with you, pumpkin"
Emma told Will to stop teasing Sophie with one of her looks. Will just laughed and pulled a chair out for Emma to sit on.
"Will, would you help Sophie get her snow gear on while I do the dishes?" Emma asked Will when breakfast was finished.
"Sure, hun. C'mon Sophie! Let's go get your snow clothes!"
"Okay daddy!" Sophie said as she ran to the stairs, "I bet I could beat you to my room, daddy!"
Will accepted Sophie's challenge by running chasing after her up the stairs. Emma heard Sophie squeal as Will tickled her and she smiled. Will was the best husband she could ever imagine having. Will was the best father for her beautiful daughter. Will was the best daddy for Sophie.
